So, I love my Mach E, but there is one thing that annoys me. My experience with the charging limit controls in the app ("Charge Times") is not so great.
I charge using "public" (free/semi-private network) chargers at my home apartment complex typically, but half the time I charge away from home, either at other Level 2 chargers or with level 3 DCFC.
The chargers at my home apartment complex are underground, so the GPS tracking for "charge times" doesn't work well.
I also think charge times is absurd, considering most of my driving is not commuting (and therefore very variable, but typically on the shorter end of things), and the public chargers at my apartment complex aren't always available and I need to take them when I can get them.
My old 2021 Hyundai Ioniq (great car but that range...ick) made managing this really simple on the other hand. There was no GPS tracking or scheduling involved, you just went into the main computer inside the car, and noted...charge to 80/90% max, and it HONORED that request every time where-ever you were at any time. In fact, the Ioniq even allowed for separate settings for DC charging and AC (L1/L2) charging.
Anyone know if there is any way to emulate that behavior in the Mach E? The extra location/time logic in the app makes this difficult.
