How to precondition on a road trip

Would someone please send me the link to instructions to precondition while traveling on a road trip? We are driving 400 miles tomorrow. I know this route quite well, it is the way to my family's home: Portland, Oregon to Winthrop Washington. I am able to use several brands of charging station including Tesla Supercharger (yes, I have the adaptor), a PUD, Electrify America. I have been driving my Mach-E for three years (just replaced the LVB), and before that the Nissan Leaf. If I am correct, we used to earmark a charging station twenty miles out on the Ford map screen; hasn't that been changed to using the Ford PAAS? Can I lay out a trip including stations and schedule preconditioning, or do I pick the next charging station while I am charging? Recently the screen has told me I can't chose while driving, even though the passenger is jockeying the screen. There must be a single link that gives the easiest instructions to plan ahead and arrange preconditioning. Thanks all for your knowledge and experience.

Do you have Android Auto?

Easiest: Use Android Auto Google maps or the Ford built-in nav, enter your destination and stop where it tells you to charge and it will precondition in the last 20 miles or so. You may need to shut off cabin heat to get it to heat the battery.

Alternatively, set your destination to a fast charger (be sure you get the charger symbol on the screen in front of the steering wheel).

I use Apple, not Android. Thank you all, and thank you Charge_Rob. That is exactly what I wanted: the link. I find out that the Nav screen still does the nav to chargers as well as preconditioning, like years ago. This will make a familiar trip more efficient. We need that, we are both 79 and driving the 400 miles in one day each way....maybe not much longer.

Without CarScanner, you wouldn't. In short, if it's very, very cold, you'll want to shutoff the cabin heat to warm the battery, OR know that your charging will be slower until the battery warms up.

As long as you search for (and set destination to) a charger about 30mins or so before you're there, the car will precondition. You don't need much more time than that, so don't worry about having it set right away after a charging session.

Has Ford added a “precondition now” button yet? This sure would make life easier — since it’s trivial to determine both the time and the distance to your intended destination by using any decent routing software and manually initiate the battery preconditioning.
