Coming from a Model S, it was so easy to open the app and slide the charge limit left and right.
You could do the same from the car screen.
I have my Mach E set to charge at 10 PM to 80%.
I wanted to charge it this afternoon to 90% and I could not find the best way to do so.
I tried hitting start on the main screen of the Ford Pass app. That didn't seem to take.
Then it looked from inside the car like it was charging but the limit line was still at 80%. There is no feedback inside the car as to what is going on.
I finally deleted the scheduled charging at home.
It shows, in the app, it is charging to 90% at 6.5 kW. Only 4 miles in 21 minutes. I am using the same 30 amp level two charger I used with my Tesla.
That seems slow.
Any tips on changing charging on the fly?
What about the slow charging?

If you're charging at a saved location, you can adjust the charge limit at any time by going to the Energy tab in FordPass and dragging and releasing the slider.

Ford Mustang Mach-E I find the charging interface to be lacking 1740416951591-qk

In the vehicle, you can view your charge limit from the Charging app on the touchscreen. It will show what the current target charge level is, and it can be changed from there as well.

Hitting "start" should set it to charge to 100% this time only.

If you go to the energy tab, there's a slider where you can adjust the target charge. That setting sticks though so once you're done you'll need to adjust it back to where you want it.

I would not fixate on miles added. If if is charging at 6.5kW and 6.5kWh is added in an hour then all is good. (Which is around 20 miles)

Ah yes, that is right, it is winter. Only had the car a week and it has only seen cold weather.

Thanks, I think maybe the app is laggy with the car.

30 x 240 x 93% for loss = 6.7kW. So, 6.5 is EXACTLY CORRECT.

You aren't the first Tesla owner that has complaints about the software, and won't be the last. Yes, the app is laggy, sometimes totally inaccurate.

I agree with this statement. I regularly only get between 1 & 3 kWh past 80% charge. If you are getting 6 kWh or better your car is charging great IMO.

I think they could both learn from each other. Yes, Tesla has it front and center when you open the app, but if I am taking a trip (in the Tesla)and swipe it to 100% the next time I plug in, it will charge to 100%, whereas the Ford pops up and asks you whether this is all the time or just once. Does anyone on the Ford app team with any decision making authority actually drive a Mustang Mach E or Lightning? It’s not apparent to me.

I think the marketers control too much of the Ford App. I should be able to do the following in the main screen

1. Set preconditioning time for that day
2. Change charge target
3. Open my trunk (if in range)
4. Keep the current lock unlock, climate now buttons

I don’t need a huge photo of my car wasting screen space get rid of it or at least make it much smaller.

the stuff on the bottom I never use, but you could keep it on the bottom (connected services, location, sett

Here's the problem IMO. FordPass is not an EV app, it is an app for ALL Ford vehicles. There used to be an EV only app, MyFordMobile, back on 2018 Fusion PHEVs, and FordPass was for gas vehicles. Now, FordPass if for everyone.

The next issue is the variability in platform upgrades. Android comes out with a new version, and 27 phone manufacturers implement 73 varieties of it, with differences between phone models, i.e. a 2025 Samsung phone doesn't get the same OS without tweaks as a 2021 Samsung phone, or if they do they don't react the same. And, Google Pixels get a different version than Samsung, which is different than others.

Then the next issue are the differences in phone features, and how they are incorporated, across different models.

Then you have differences in how MY Pixel 8 works vs. YOUR Pixel 8, because I have feature X turned off, and you have 7 other apps loaded that overload Bluetooth, ....

In other words, it's a PITA for them, and they seem to take 1 step forward and then the next update takes 7 steps back. It's very frustrating.

Ford could be more creative in making the app configurable by the user. I think this is marketing more than software development challenges.

Is a drawback of Android devices and testing out software across a lot of devices? I dint think this issue exists for Apple

As one previous poster said, just being able to sit in the car and slide the limit bar right or left would make all the difference in the world. That isn't an app issue.

Somebody higher up at @Ford Motor Company really loves that ginormous, useless car picture on the app Home Screen. And the best part is, because of all that wasted space, the Home Screen is scrollable. Which means the buttons on the screen can move around while you’re trying to one-thumb it while walking to your car. It’s dumb design. I’ve told them this at least 37 times. They don’t care.
