If I order now, when will my build date be?

I reserved in late January and ordered in June when orders first opened. I do not expect to see a car before late spring at the earliest.
Boy, I sure hope you’re wrong about that! It would put me into September or 2022 model year. I disagree with you and I think you’ll get your car in Q1 and I’ll get mine in Q2 of 2021. Delivery to Hawaii is another matter however so your projection could be right for your state.

My car isn’t slated to be built until Februsry. The plant is running 3 weeks behind right and while it is making progress, there a degree of likelihood it will still be behind next year. Add in parts supply issues, worker shortages due to COVID and a shipping time that exceeds 2 months and I’ll be lucky to see it before May.

Didn't you mean to say the plant is running 3 days behind? This has been my build week from the start with a build date of 12/16. While not yet finished, my car was posted as being in the body shop yesterday (may have actually been started 12/16).

You're right in your logic but my heart still hopes you're wrong!

Thanks for the input, everyone! Sounds a little uncertain on timing, but it looks like if I want a car in the late spring I should get on it. ;)

Yeah, though I was thinking about the folks here with no updated reports on their November builds so that might explain the Freudian slip. Those could either be outliers or bad updates from dealers otherwise we should have seen more cars slipping than already have. 3 days @Illinibird not 3 weeks.

What is apparent is that order date and reservation dates are not the only criteria being used in determining the production date. The one person I know on the island here with a First Edition is just inside a month to go before his production week. That was a day 2 reservation. The shipping time is unique to us. I got the estimate from pulling F-150 stickers and looking them up. Not exact of course but in the same ballpark or at least the same "street."

Where do you see your car was in the body shop? Trim? etc.? Thanks.

Your dealer can find you that information. Otherwise, you can look in the tracker on this website (up at the top). You'll need your VIN for that. That gives a bit less detailed information but more than the customer website information you get when looking up your reservation/order.

I've been on the tracker many times (both forum and Ford). Nothing at the detail level of trim shop. Shows "in production."

I ordered on 9/30/2020 hoping for a build date around April of 2021. I recently got a build week of 2/22 which has since moved to 2/14. So, if you order now, you might get a build date in late March or early April. A lot depends on how they queue up the plant for the different models.
I’m guessing your a 2021 model even though you ordered in 2020? Just curious coz I ordered mine last week. Using your example, I’ll be getting my MME around Q1 2022. Would mine be a 2022 model then? Thanks!

Ford has not announced a 2022 model year for the Mach-E yet. Usually, the model years roll around October. With the start of GT models, not sure how much a 2022 will change. Maybe more colors? Be aware, Ford recently sent out a 6 week increase in projected orders due to the chip shortage. Hope you get yours sooner rather than later. BTW, the Mach-E is worth the wait!

My gut reaction is you're likely to get an early 2022 model. I believe the 2021's will be produced for a bit longer than "normal" because there is no normal right now. But I highly doubt they'll extend production for 2021's into 2022.
