Thought I would post this up in case this happens to anyone. Was at an EA charger this weekend just to test out plug and charge, surprisingly it worked fine on the first try and started eating away at the included charging Ford provided. After stopping charging and making sure the Mach E plug release button had been pressed, I could not remove the CCS plug. Pressed again, tried it a few times and no dice. Called EA and after some troubleshooting the gentleman suggested holding down the button on the plug handle, pushing the plug into the vehicle, and then pulling it out. It worked- something must have been too tight and unable to disengage. So if you get a stuck plug on your first few charges I would try that. Never had any issues with the mobile charger though.

Yes, I've had this happen on my MME, and my brothers Bolt.

I've commented on several threads where people have had to remove the plastic trim in the frunk area to get to a release. But I'm pretty sure all they need to do is push the connector in fully again and then try pulling it out.

This method has worked every time I thought it was "stuck"

Page 164 of the manual shows you how to manual release the charge coupler. The manual release is inside the trunk. The process seems way more difficult then it should be as it requires you remove the luggage compartment covers...

Sometimes the weight or stiffness of those DCFC cables pull down on the CCS connector and cause it to hold the latch pin from releasing. It's bound up in there for lack of a better description.

Same issue can happen in reverse. A charge session might not initiate because the car isn't able to actuate that lock pin. In those cases, just lift up on the connector slightly to support the weight of the cable. When you hear it start charging then you can gently release the cable and it should be okay.

But that is not needed unless the release latch is truly stuck. OP's method has worked several times for me.
