The GT will have an illuminated front pony. Does anyone think there’s a chance that Ford will offer an illuminated pony as an aftermarket accessory? How about illuminated scuff plates?

IIRC Ford recently said that after the GT comes out the “nose cone” would be available from Ford Parts.

this feels more difficult than the front but I could be wrong... just thinking about what would be involved in swapping out the scuff plates and where the power would come from. For the front, if they ship the car "fully wired," since it's a possible option, it's not as bad.

(I have no idea how this works today, but my 1995 GT shipped "fully wired"; that ended up being nice because when I replaced the convertible top for unrelated reasons, I had the no-defroster one replaced by the upholstery guy with a defroster one... that and a $10 used switch that went in place of the appropriate blank in the dash, and I had a rear-window defroster.)

I would think that the scuff plates are illuminated. The ones in my 2017 Explorer are so not sure why it would not be in the brand new Mustang.

I’m pretty sure the scuff plates are NOT illuminated. That’s definitely the kind of thing they’d call out in the features if they were. Just like they call out stainless steel scuff plates.

Cool! I really want the range, pano roof I'm getting on the premium/FE, but that GT "grille" really makes the car look spectacular, in my opinion

If it has an illuminated pony and can be retrofitted to a premium, then I’m in, otherwise, meh.

In 2003 I bought a Ford Mustang coupe non-GT. I was able to order the fog lights and switch from Ford and my dealer installed them. I see no reason that the lighted pony my be able to be ordered and installed.

Look at the front “grilles”. They are molded parts of the body and completely different. I doubt there’s a way to put an illuminated pony on a nonGT front end

Has there been any update on this? Now that we've seen the GT in action, I'd love to add an illuminated pony on the front of my premium.

Not that I’ve heard. Some modder took some kind of illuminated LED strip and put it into the indentation where the pony goes. I don’t recall a picture, but that doesn’t sound like the same thing.
