S.Q. (Stupid Questions) What are UV beads where can you buy them and how do they work?
I'm glad this was already answered because I would have had a lot of fun trolling.

Here's the windshield and side windows if you don't have Pano roof.

Are you talking about your GTPE order? The windshield will not be IRR since you didn't order the Pano roof.
Thanks Scoob. I didn’t know they had a different windshield on non-pano cars. I guess an upgrade is in the future whenever I get my first rock chip. ??

Steve, you can get UV-resistant window tint film. When/if I get my car, I will get the front windows tinted to match the rest. 300 days of sun here in Colorado and lots of retina issues, so tinting is a "health" measure!
Yup, I have optically clear UV-resistant film on my Fusion’s door windows. Exactly what I was planning on doing. Due to the cops in my town, I am not paying for a shaded tint that I will have to remove because I got a ticket for it.

Says PVB (Polyvinyl butyral) so that means it will block >99% of UV light. Infrared (heat) is different story if that’s what you’re worried about instead. UV and IR are different types of rays with different wavelengths and properties.

Oh, cool. So I don’t need to put UV blocking film on them. Less $$ to spend! ??

And yes, I am aware that IR and UV are on completely opposite ends of the spectrum. Not interested in IR, just UV (don’t want interior getting killed by the sun).

Just slap tint all around if you are up in the bay area, or at least clear IR film. The car lets in a TON of heat through the front and back windows. The back windows are just dark, they don't provided any heat rejection.

I had my MME for maybe 2ish weeks or so before I had tint installed. Made a HUGE difference in the amount of heat in the car after parked and also lowered the amount of time the HVAC was blasting trying to cool the car. To me its worth it.

Yes, the windshield and pano roof have “IRR” printed on them. I was asking about the door windows. If they are not I will have to get them IRR tinted, is all. Just trying to figure out what jobs I need to reserve at my tint shop. He’s always busy and I probably won’t get an appointment for 2-3 months.
I'm not sure where in the Bay Area you are, but I've had great results using California Glass Tinting in San Jose.
