Inaccurate battery indicator

My default overnight charge is for 80% (about 170-ish miles for me). But a couple of times recently, the car says it has charged to 80% but only shows 150-ish miles. What is the deal?

You probably got the wrong battery. Happens all the time.

Or maybe the weather is just changing....

Or an update sometimes confuses the GoM. Or you let some crazy driver drive your car. That's what happened to my car; husband took it on a long weekend trip and now it tells me it has 30 miles less range.
