Apple just beginning to look into it.

Since our MME chargers like to cook our phones ... it occurred it may be a risk factor for us as well until the issue is identified.

Since last Friday (Sept 22) when I got my 15 Pro, I've driven just over 600 miles with the phone always on the wireless charger. So far, haven't had any issues.

Different question, but slightly related: I got an iPhone 14Pro about a month ago, because my old iPhone X randomly stopped working.

My new phone (iPhone 14) doesn't really charge in the Mach-E: If I even get it to charge at all, it never charges for more than 20 seconds at a time, before it disconnects and doesn't charge anymore. I think this is what a lot of people here complain about, when they say the Mach-E wireless charging is flawed, right? My wifes iPhone 13 (I think) has the same problem. The weird thing is: My old phone (iPhone X) worked perfectly in the Mach E. Had no problem charging it. Sometimes it would disconnect, but not very often. But the wireless charging was definitely useable compared to the iPhone 14 and 13, where it is clearly useless. Kind of strange. Does anyone know why that is? What did the old iPhones have that made them better at charging in the somewhat suboptimal Mach-E chargers?

iPhone X uses Qi instead of MagSafe for inductive charging. The older coil design couples better with the wireless charger:

The coils might be tuned for different frequencies, and the magnets around the coil just convert inductance into heat.

Blame Apple for doing something proprietary.

Yep, my iPhone X was perfect with my MME. My iPhone 13 Pro, not so much. The charging doesn’t much matter to me since I installed a MagSafe charger on the center screen. Sometimes the wonky connectivity does bother me. Sometimes not. ?‍?
