OP, save your money and buy this:

And finally, the number one slowest vehicle in America is the soon-to-be-dead Mitsubishi Mirage. It takes you an impressive 12.8 seconds to get from zero to 60 miles per hour in this sad excuse for a passenger vehicle, and it's all thanks to the minuscule 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that only produces 78 hp and 74 lb-ft of torque. It isn't fast, it isn't comfortable, it isn't nice, and it's pretty old. The Mirage won't be missed.
Someone might pay OP to take one of those Mitsubishis off of their hands. ??

Possibly look into trading for a gently used later model select.

A used RWD car is slower than the GT... but still way faster than anything they are likely to have driven before. An AWD select is faster than 90% of anything ICE powered.

Here's your solution: Sell your GT and buy a lower trim of comparable age and mileage. With the leftover money take your family on vacation on the Newsed car.

I was recently going through the same thought process with new drivers soon in the family. I don't really need my new drivers having access to this much power and acceleration, although I know they will get used to it and manage it respectfully (when I'm around). I just more worry about accidental situations or slamming down on that go-pedal.

It certainly would be great if we could limit this in MyKey.

This makes me think of my wife's Chevy Bolt EUV. She gets upset if I step on it too hard in my GT, and the Bolt seems to work well for her. However I was driving it one day with her in the car, and at the green light a huge pig SUV next to us stepped on it with a roar. Normally in my GT he would quickly be in the dust, but it seemed he thought he would take our little Bolt easily. I stepped on it after that, it took a little longer, but even the Bolt left him in the dust.

I'm sure that seems like an odd request. However, I've been considering trading in my '22 GT for a '24 or '25 (if the HVBJB issue ever gets resolved). With trade in values being what they are, I've thought about seeing if either my wife or kids would be interested in driving it. If they were interested, they certainly don't need and actually wouldn't want the acceleration it's capable of. So...

Just wondering if it's possible to "tune it down" to something more along the lines of a Select. Did a quick forum search and didn't see any discussions about it.
Going through something somewhat similar- training my 15 year old to drive.

Not once has the acceleration gotten him in trouble. In fact the smoothness makes it much easier to learn on than my wife’s Aviator.

I keep it in 2PD and engage so it’s more like a regular car.

Yes, it is stupid fast accelerating. But with AWD and being electric it’s not really dangerous.

Not like a high powered rwd car where you can really get yourself in trouble.

Plus it’s actually a good thing in this situation that it falls on its face at “dangerous speeds.” ?

My wife and I swap cars all the time. She just never floors it.

I love my Bolt. I can’t tell you how many times some dude in a lifted truck has wanted to toy with me at a stop light only to experience the humiliation of that super dorky little silent car pulling away hard.
No one toys with me like that when I’m driving my GT.
