There are times, when intelligent cruise control is on and my feet are off the pedals, that my car approaches an upcoming car pretty fast before slowing down and the collision avoidance alert starts screaming from the instrument panel. At this point I'm confused. Is it talking to me and telling me to take over and hit the brakes? Or is it talking to itself and telling itself to slow down faster?

Anyone else see this anomaly?

You should not rely on the vehicle during abnormal conditions. The vehicle will react on its own but you would be wise to take over. Self driving cars are not a thing yet.

I've found most often if I shift lanes before a red light, say from a lane with many cars in front of me to another with less cars. my MME would think it's an open lane and accelerate before it realize there are still cars ahead.
