So I should have waited and gone with the we then... Noted! ? Should have done my research but still unfortunate that Ford didn't disclose this to me ??The 2024 GT does have the same battery as earlier models, but it has a different rear motor, slightly more robust wiring and cooling, but most importantly it has sensors throughout the entire electrical system to monitor heat. The new rear motor is the in-house developed motor used in the F 150 that is more powerful and more efficient than the earlier motor. These upgrades yield a longer range (280 compared to 260 miles), a 20% quicker fast charge from 10% to 80% and remove the 5 second limit.
For racing enthusiasts, the 2024 GTPE performs significantly better than the 2023 as demonstrated in this post:

P.S. The reason I looked into the differences is because my old 2022 Mach-E GTPE was totaled about 5 weeks ago and last week I got a 2024 GTPE to replace it. We were not injured in the crash because the car absorbed the energy of the collision. For day-to-day driving I don't notice a difference, but on a freeway entrance ramp near my house, I could get up to 80 mph if I floored the old car, while the new car can get up to 90.
