Hi all,

How do you tell the Job Number for the car build? I have a 2021 MME GTPE, last 5 of VIN is 02258.

All 2021 GTs are 2021 Job2 cars. They didn't start producing GTs until Job1 was done in 2021. ??

Just for future reference, MMEs are not built in VIN sequential order. That's why all the recalls/CSPs/TSBs are by build date and not VIN breaks like other manufacturers.

Right, but the last six digits (we need the letter to the left of the numbers) plus the model year do give a rough/course notion of build order.

Same with Austin Healy of the 1960s. They would build bodies and number them, and then stack the against a wall. So, when they pulled them, the order was goofy.

Stranger yet, they had no VIN number stamped on the body, but only a 'secret number' stamped under a wire loom hold down.

Eventually, when the car was completed, plates on door pillers went on, held securely with Phillips head screws.

That's your British car history lesson for today.......
