Kia charging for NACS adapter

Kia (& Hyundai) is providing free NACS adapters only to those purchased after Sept 4, 2024. Charging (pun?) $225 for others. Glad Ford provided for all. Thanks Ford.

Another article notes early 2025 for kia/hyundai to get supercharger access which is also when the NACS plug for the car will be shipping installed in lieu of CCS1.

It’s not like it’s that important any more. There are adapters on the market for both AC and DC charging. Tesla is on board with the CCS communication protocols. ?‍?

I'm wondering when they're going to change over to the tesla plug port in the car itself, seems like that'd be a more efficient way of doing things.

Since I have a J1772 EVSE in my garage and almost all of my charging takes place at home a Tesla port on the car would be less efficient for me. I guess if you DCFC exclusively and Superchargers are most convenient to you a Tesla port on the car would be more efficient. I would guess that the majority of us have an EVSE at home though. ?‍?

Not really. The $225 mentioned in the article is quoting the price that GM is charging. Kia hasn’t said yet how much they’re going to charge for the adapter.
