I called a few places and they all are telling me 8 hours of shop time and you need to do alignment. These are all K3 approved vendors wondering what others in the states are hearing.

Book calls for 3.6 on the fronts and 1.5 on the rears. Realistically, any good shop that has hands on experience with coilovers would bill you about 6-6.5hrs - this would include any necessary height adjustments after putting the wheels on the ground. Add an alignment into the mix, that's another $150-200. All in all, this should be no more than $1100 + tax.

Well, since they are replacing the front struts, a front end alignment is necessary. Not sure about the time involved to R&R the parts, but it looks like a 3.5-5 hour job for both the front and rear. ?‍♂?

I just now noticed the Flickr gallery...

Curious that their photos didn't show the KW rear springs being installed. Did you confirm that they actually put those in? Photos show a black OE spring, where the KW springs are yellow.

Also, hows the ride being that low? The photos in the gallery show the car just coming out of the shop so it will continue to settle some more.
Yup they fitted the rear ones too. Didn’t take its Pics.

ride hasn’t settled yet. I have done about 30 miles since install. They recommended a few day more.

This is pretty much what this shop did it in. About 3.5 hrs.

I looked up @taikajim’s old posts and in May he quoted about an hour per corner for fitting…that matches my experience.

I went to Evolve Automotive, www.evolveautomotive.com and they specialise in suspensions and have done loads of KWs. They said it was a straightforward affair.

p.s. folks pls make your own judgments. I am wary of raising expectations too high. taikajim said the problem was improved not fixed and that’s exactly my assesment too.

I don’t think this is a problem that can be 100% fixed.

I would say that is my view of the GTPE after driving it today. Ignoring the fact the wife hated the deats the ride was improved but not fixed. Not sure how these would compare to the Magnaride.

Did you decide to buy the PE?

As of right now I am not taking it. The car drove better but it wasn't like 100% better in my opinion and wife hated the front seats and the back seats. I know it is everyone's own opinion:

- Front seats she didn't like how hard it was to reach to the back and you she couldn't sit with her arm back on the middle arm rest. For example changing gears banged her arm on the shoulder support.

- Back seat is less cushioned and you can really feel the metal support bar that goes across the seat.

- She found as a passenger in front that her resting arm position was not comfortable as the side supports of the seat came far out and changed how she likes to sit and rest her arms.

- My view was I agree the seat definately hugs you more and I found it pretty warm which goes back to no ventilated seats. The shoulder didn't bug me as much I am 6'2" and have long arms and can reach back still.

I really wanted to love the ride enough to not care about the seat but that didn't happen. I think if you have only had a GTPE or really like a performance seat it could be a great option but you are talking to someone who comes from minivans / big suvs.

Well in a plot twist I decided to get the PE. The decision was I am not happy with the GT and PE is better, not perfect, so hope I get use to the seats and if not hope I am not out a lot of money.

After trade in and second federal credit the car is costing me $4,500 with a possible 4,000 rebate for my state based on some unique lottery system.

despite the griping about the ride, it’s a great car. When I was looking for replacements I found there just aren’t any that match the Mach E in terms of inside space, storage and range, all three combined.

there are many that have fancier tech for sure, but those three parameters were important for me.

Ioniq5 and EV6 come close but I am sticking with Mach E now.

The link is broken
Yes it was deleted. I’m waiting on the moderators to tell me why.

Does anyone know if there are there any other staff members or moderators, other than @Administrator ? I had all the details confirmed prior to posting.

Disregard - posting has been restored.

I've posted a KW V3 Coilover group buy in the member market place section. View it using the link below:

https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...-all-non-gtpe-trims-and-configurations.19800/
I'm very interested in this, but I don't get my MME GT till October probably...maybe. ? Seems silly to order it before I've even driven a GT.<sigh> Wonder if my wife will let me buy them anyway, then if I don't need them, I can sell them to someone else at the same discount rate (pass them along).

Given these are the first try at coilovers, I suspect there will be some trial and error to get the valving and spring rates just right.

If you go back to the shop, they can work with KW to spec out different springs or valving. Of course that's not free as there will be additional parts and labor involved.
