Lack of any media information while using navigation

Does anyone else find it crazy that when just on the home navigation screen we can’t see any information on the media playing? Even when switching songs a little curtain dropdown with the title would at least be nice. All the room on this screen, I’d think there’d be SOME way to do this. The bigger cards were helpful for this but now they’re gone.

One of my pet peeves in modern cars is when they have a huge screen but don’t allow you to show more than one thing at a time. Ford did not fall into this category when they had the big cards. But now they do.

Yeah it definitely bothers me especially when using the in-car nav for DCFC preconditioning since otherwise I generally use CarPlay with Apple Maps where it is easier to see music and nav.

I know everyone’s use case is different but my issues with this would be resolved if either 1. We could see the media being played on the IPC (not sure if that is workable with CarPlay/AndroidAuto though), or 2. Have some sort of “precoditon now” button so we don’t have to rely on ford nav for preconditioning.

I would be happy if the implemented 1. (If that is even possible with the CarPlay API) since that also fixes an issue I have with CarPlay where you can only see the music if you use the small map and I like the detail/clarity of the larger map.

I’m pretty sure they should be able to do that. Other cars that use CarPlay have displayed media info on the cluster. Ironically, I just experienced this today in a Ford Explorer. Also, when the larger cards were still around they displayed info for CarPlay media I believe.

My Lightning displays media info on the instrument cluster. Now that I‘ve experienced it, it bothers me that it’s not on my Mach-E.

I've never used the native navigation. I use Google Maps in Android Auto which shows navigation and media simultaneously.
