Lane assist not working

Lane keeping will definitely steer you back into the lane. It won't bring you back to the center though. If you just have lane keep, that is where you can get the car bouncing back and forth from line to line if you let it keep "correcting" itself. This feature should work even if no cruise control is turned on.

Still want to reiterate to OP...Make sure you have the car with the grey lines that turn green while driving in clearly marked lanes on the instrument cluster display. If you don't you need to press the steering wheel button for lane assist.

It will not actually steer you back into the lane unless you are using lane centering, which also requires adaptive or intelligent cruise control being turned on. The "lane keeping" just vibrates the wheel as far as I have found and does not actually change the direction of the car.

Ah! Good to know, thanks. Steering wheel does not vibrate. I’ll turn on lane centering to see what happens, if anything.

I literally feel absolutely nothing. A friend of mine has a Subaru with this feature and she said she found it disturbing and t turned it off. I know I would feel the steering wheel vibrate if it was working. But tomorrow I’m going to see if there’s any difference with lane centering on. Meanwhile, I have an appointment with a dealer to do a software upgrade. I just notice the comment about the gray and green lines and the steering wheel control. I’ll try that tomorrow too. Yes make sure those lines are there. If they aren't hit the lower right button on the left steering wheel switch pack that has the lines. It is below the cruise control gap indicator.

Ok, so I did find the button on the steering wheel, and when I turned it on I got the lines around the car on the front screen. But the car still does nothing when I swerve out of my lane. No vibration, no pullback. Nothing.
On another topic, I find it hard to believe that a car with this much technology doesn‘t have rain-sensing windshield wipers. Is that even possible?

It absolutely has rain-sensing wipers. Check your settings to make sure it's on, and it needs to be on at the stalk as well.

It does. I mean no offense, but it would probably be wise to take some time to read the owners manual. Lots of good information in there.

I actually did and didn’t see anything about a rain-sensing setting. I’ll take a picture of that screen when I’m in the car next.

There is zero vibration on mine. I would feel SOMETHING or else what’s the point. I have to assume my software is only half baked. Hopefully, the hour-long upgrade at the dealer will add the missing feature.

I think it is time to visit your dealer or find someone with knowledge of the car to teach you some things about it in person.

When the lines turn green the car is tracking the lanes. If you swerve quickly out of your lane the car will not do anything as it knows you are purposely trying to. If the lines are grey the car is not tracking the lanes and will do nothing. To test the system be sure it is in aid or aid+alert mode and gradually let your car touch the lane line WHILE the line is green. The line should turn yellow in the instrument cluster and the car should gently steer back into the lane. This works best when it is a straight road.

The rain sensing wipers work if you put the wiper stalk to the right of the steering wheel into the first (intermittent) setting. There's a little "A" on the stalk to indicate auto. Then you adjust the intermittent setting to adjust how sensitive the rain sensing is. Make sure rain sensing is enabled in settings. It is on by default.
