Leave it plugged in, or unplug?

New owner here, I tried searching for this but I couldn’t find any posts.

I need advice, when the car hits 100%, or whatever your max % is set to, do you unplug it/stop the charger? Or do you leave it connected all night?

I have a ChargePoint Home Flex as my charger. I want to do whatever is best for the battery, but also allows the car to pre-cool/heat when it’s time to leave.

Thoughts?

It's been mentioned already, but for emphasis -- leave it plugged in. Set your max charge limit. And forget about it.
In fact, it's good practice to "Always Be Charging" (ABC) at all times. Just set your charge limit and you're good. Car will stop drawing power except to keep the battery conditioned.

I agree. Seems like every other thread is a comment “did you search for this first”. I see more of that than I do actual repeated topics lol.

I see both sides of the fence. On one hand, it gets exceedingly tiring, and somewhat frustrating, seeing new threads for the same topics over and over again. It's like groundhog day, lol. Especially when you've been on this forum for more than a few months.

But on the other hand, if the user made an honest effort to search for topics already before creating a new one, then I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Well... it's alright.

So you're saying that the number of threads that have the response "this has been done to death, here's the search" exceeds the number of threads with repeated topics? That would mean nonrepeated topics would have an incorrect reference in them, which I don't believe is the case.

There's a different between newbies looking for an answer and not finding it and newbies just asking the question without ever looking. In Mark's case he is indeed teaching both categories to fish so that they are more apt/successful searching for their next answer. IMO he is generally helpful to all by answering the question and referring to the search terms, although this time he only cited the search term to use.

This is a forum and none of us are paid to be customer support technicians. Replying with the answer or how to find the answer are both acceptable. The alternative is not to reply at all

Mark wasn't mean or rude, he simply asked if you tried searching. No one will hurt you if you ask a common question. Certainly if you start out by saying you tried and couldn't find the answer I am sure you will get polite responses.

Im actually a support engineer as my profession so I'm used to constant of the same questions.

Back to the point, I'm not saying anyone here is wrong or right. I'm just saying when I open a thread, I usually see someone saying to use the search button. In reality none of this matters to me because like you said, I just don't reply in the first place. I was just saying I agree more with the 69 mach guy or whatever.

I don't take these forums too seriously lol.

Try searching a few ways. If that doesn't work start a thread. There's no shame in it but the Forum has lots of really valuable information in it already.

I didn’t think anyone was rude, I completely understand his point. It’s all good. I should start the post by saying I’ve looked around. I really appreciate it when people are helpful and post links to the other threads

Thanks! My husband has his own Ford Pass account for his Fusion and I was wondering he could add my MME to his account too to have PAAK access from his phone. I wasn’t sure if you could add the same car to 2 different accounts and have 2 different PAAKs.

I will 100% say, reading threads from over a year ago is more annoying than a new thread popping up.

Sometimes I click on a thread that says latest activity, I open and find it started in 2019 or 2020, then I just groan to myself and close the thread without reading it. Just doesn't make sense to me.
