Sometime last night or early this morning the lift gate opened on it’s own while backed into my garage. I don’t have any pets nor was anyone other than me in the house so there shouldn’t have been anything triggering the kick sensor. I know others have had this same issue. Is Ford looking into this? They really need to determine the cause. The car was locked so it makes me nervous to think what if this happens while I’m out somewhere and maybe have a valuable item back there.

Edit1: This is the second time that I’ve seen this happen. Both times it happened overnight while backed into the garage with the vehicle locked.

This isn't the first time this issue has been reported on here. The first one actually had damaged caused because his car was tight in the garage. I park mine in the garage and I too am tight for space so I always go into settings and turn OFF auto lift. Bit of a faff every night but "just in case". So far so good.

Good morning! If you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can look into your concerns on my end.
