Looking at going from V8 S550 to Mach E

Hi guys
First post here, we’re expecting our second child later this year, so currently looking at Mach E’s as a replacement for my 2019 V8 Mustang.

We do have another car as the proper family car, but due to work etc I’d still need something that can fit 2 car seats so I can pick the kids up from nursery etc.

Just wanted to get some opinions from real owners about how the Mach E works as a family car? Does it easily fit car seats with plenty of room?
Has anyone gone from a V8 Mustang to a Mach E? How did you find it?
Also curious about the GT, love the more aggressive look, feels like it would be an easier transition for me, so any info on differences would be good!

Should I be worried that it’s your third? Are they reliable? ?

I’m only 5’9 so might be a bit better, not gifted with height like yourself!

I do like a fun drive and I think the GT could be a good way for me to transition into electric, coming from a 5L V8 it wouldn’t be an easy transition if I went for something more tame!

Haha no no, I’ve been fortunate enough to keep updating thanks to the market. First one I sold back after 9 months for the MSRP to get into a GT, and then sold the GT when I saw the great lease deals on ‘24s. I guess I really am a fan of this car!

I traded my 2018 GT 10 speed in for a brand new June 2023 Mach E in October 2024 in Auckland New Zealand. It is a much better car as a daily driver, faster, instant power, AWD which gives great traction in the wet while the ICE V8 spims wheels and goes nowhere, magnaride, seats 5 adults, 4 doors, better boot, great froot for petrol cans and smelly stuff, easier to get in and out of, costs half as much to run as the ICE V8, great navigation display. Safer5 star hehicle compared to the 3 star ICE V8. It cost me the trade in plus NZ$7000 instead of NZ$40,000 to upgrade to the 2024 ICE V8. Other than the amazing noise of the ICE V8 there is nothing that I miss. It was a great step forward!

Traded my 2018 10 speed auto GT V8 on a new 2023 Mach E GTPE. Love the new car, use it all the time because it is a pleasure to drive. Easier to get in and out of, instant power, AWD, so smooth. Love the Autonomous Cruise, lane centreing is so good. Totally in love with the Mach E GTPE.
