Looks like Ford / EA have basically got DCFC working adequately!

I don’t DCFC very often, and when I do it it is rarely on EA chargers because they aren’t conveniently located on road trips. I’ve got one near my house but I don’t need one near my house.

Anyway, I had time to kill and “free” EA kWh to burn so I decided to pop on by this morning. Plug & Charge worked! I went from 20% to 80% in just about 35mins averaging around 100kW. Then is dipped to around 40kW and took another 15mins to get from 80 to 90%.

Nothing to write home about, but all in all a perfectly adequate DCFC experience. Nice to see things work as they should.

You experience at EA may vary. Only about 60% of the stations work on the first try. In some locations only 1 out of 4 dispensers works.

I know you posted this months ago but I just tried my first ea charge with free ford kWh. I couldn’t get it to work and since was low on battery just put my credit card on machine. What is the trick. I tried to connect via ford pass. Any suggestions will need it shortly

First, go to ford.com/connectedservices and login. Check to see if you’ve got BlueOval Charge Network active. If not, you need to call Ford. This can take a few days after purchasing vehicle to be available.

Second, check your FordPass app to make sure you’ve got Plug & Charge enabled. Go to the vehicle tab, and then charging drop down, and then BlueOval Charging Network, and then Plug & Charge.

Yeah I saw this thread a few minutes ago and decided to activate it but it keeps dropping out for me to. I was able to activate on ford.com but in the app it keeps saying "New Tag Collected" and gives a long string of random numbers and letters.

Oh well like you I guess I will try again later.

Thanks. Been feeling so inept. Especially since I retired from big blue and thought I was pretty good with computers and apps. Don’t have my laptop this trip so will try tomorrow and worst case I pay ea

It sometimes takes a few days after purchase for the Connected Services to work properly. If you’re still having issues on the website, call Ford.

This worked. I tried again today and I was able to enable the option in the FP app. Thanks again @Mirak!
