I have a 21 GT. As we were driving on the interstate the other day, a piece of wood came spinning out from a car in the lane next to me. Of course, no time to react and it zeroed in on the louvers on the driver's side. No warnings at that time, so kept going. Got home and the louvers on the one side were laying in front of the radiator. They went back in easily, but the force of the strike cracked the plastic where the louver motion mechanism attaches to the front assembly. So when the louvers go to open, it just pushes the mount back and nothing happens. We also get the collision assist sensor warning at times too. It works normally sometimes as well. In my quest to avoid dealers and body shops, is there any way to glue/adhere/weld the plastic pa

Mine took a chance of truck tire to the louvers. $1900 repair. You can't get just the piece in the middle, it is the entire black piece, fender to fender.

Yup. Sensor behind the bumper sounds like it was hit also. Pricey.

The sensor works occasionally. I looked behind there and it appears the sensor is just loose, but functional. What a stupid design. Shame on Ford.

My sensor worked fine too....the bracket it pops into was broken. After they opened everything up they found that the radiator was slightly damaged as well, mostly fins smashed but they replaced it as well.

I was just gonna eat the cost but as it added up I decided to send it through insurance
