Hey All! This is my new-to-me 2024 Rally. Loving it so far. I know this might be counter to why a lot of people chose the Rally spec, but just curious if anyone has lowered theirs?

And since the Rally has an additional 20mm of ground clearance over the GT, I’m guessing something like the Eibach Pro kit would lower the car nearly 2 inches compared to the listed 1.2”?

Appreciate any info or advice!

When you lower the car, you will have a pretty big set of people who would buy those used springs from you since they are the in-demand mod for non-Magneride 2021-2024 cars that seem to have a bouncy ride. 😁🐩

The general consensus is that the Rally has, by far, the best ride of all the MMEs, and sacrifices little in handling. If your goal is to improve handling, adding the Eibach sway bars will probably be your best bet.

I'm going the other way.
I can only offer my opinion.
Lowering as low as specs allow would be dumb.

The Rally rides higher due to the different springs the car has compared to the other models and this is what mostly gives the car the improved ride. Going lower would give you the crappy ride that most want to get away from.

I love my upgrade to the Rally springs and Eibach sway bars. Why would you want to lower the car for a much crappier ride?

If you just want better handling, then the Eibach sway bars are a must.

@ant123mci, there's a comprehensive review from @JohnFoxeSheets about upgrading to the Rally springs.

I understand your skepticism. My point of view is an opinion and my preference and should not be taken as fact though I am echoing the feelings of a number of people who have experienced the ride from the other side with non-Rally springs.

Hopefully, the information I provided is helpful and that OP can make an informed decision. I'm in no way trying to push anyone one way or the other. I perhaps should have asked why would OP want to lower their ride instead of also including my opinion that the ride would be worse or "crappy."

When I saw this thread a couple of days ago I thought, why does John want to lower the Rally? If he wanted a Mach-E that had a lower height, why buy the Rally to begin with?

Everything you said above about changing the springs to lower the car is absolutely true. The ride will be come more harsh and bouncy. Why? Because the Rally springs have the lowest spring rate of any available which is why it has a smoother, less bouncy ride.

I've personally installed the Rally springs on 9 Mach-E's for forum members with 2 more scheduled this month because they are fed up with the ride. There have been many more that have had it done and everyone has posted how their ride has been significantly improved. All professional reviewers online that I've read have commented on how much better the Rally rides compared to previous trims. You cannot deny physics. Lower spring rate = smoother ride.

HOWEVER, it's possible John just wants to lower his car for looks and isn't concerned about the ride. I totally get that as I lowered both of my '21 Mach-E's (Premium and GTPE). I really liked the look of it lowered and at the time thought we were stuck with the way it rode until the Rally trim came out. After I installed the Rally springs on my '24 GTP, I will not be going back to that harsh, bouncy ride.

Hi John, after replying to DeusEx's post about you wanting to lower your car, thought I would give you my suggestion. As long as you know that changing to any other springs will give you a ride that is more harsh and bouncy. That said, Eibach makes several different springs you can go with depending on how low you want to go. I've installed all of them including their lift springs and my suggestions would be their GT springs part# E10-35-054-04-22 which are progressive and will give you the best ride of any of their lowering springs since the others are linear. I would also highly suggest replacing your OEM sway bars with theirs which is part# E40-35-054-01-11. This will make your car handle much better and corner flatter. If you do nothing else to your car, at least install their bars.

Anthony, I am confused here. You mentioned Pat's detailed review of "lowering" his car but he lifted it, not lowered it.
