Here's an uneducated opinion : That might be something OTA can change. It depends on if it's a hard limit from the drivetrain or more a battery stress issue.

this feels like the point of having difference driving modes, especially if they have left room hardware-wise (meaning the drivetrain isn't already being pressed as hard as they feel comfortable with) to push harder.

I get it. I find it hard to believe that the RWD and AWD would have similar actual results as indicated by their initial targets in the mid-5s though.
