So I go to pick up a car seat from the dealership. I think let me try to start it. All of a sudden car starts and works. I was able to drive it around the lot. They still haven’t looked at it. Something reset? Also prob should do the hvbjb now that it’s there but very weird.

Btw I was also able to scan it and P0AA2-00 did come up. Positive contractor circuit stuck open.

But there are no dashboard lights now on mine. Unless you scanned, it would look normal and drive normally.

Mine showed the yellow wrench and "Service Vehicle Soon" message. Sorry for the blurry images it was cold when taking this video which is too large to attach.

UPDATE: Dealer just called me and I talked with their EV Technician. He is stating that there are so many updates to various modules that caused my vehicle to go in-op and shut down. These are NOT updates that can be done over the air and they want $600 because I'm 2 months out of my 3 year warranty. So I asked him how would I know I needed these updates because I would have brought the vehicle in to have them done if they aren't done OTA. (BTW, my last OTA update was MARCH 14, 2024). He said you don't know until there's a problem. So, it's just my dumb luck that this is happening right after warranty expires? He said he would put into my repair report that he tested the HVBJB and contactors are functioning correctly.

How do I dispute the $600 fee?
Am I paying $600 to put a band-aid on a symptom and not fixt the problem?

Did you ever have the high junction box recall done? If not, I would just do that and they have to update the modules anyway. They shouldn’t charge you for that.

If they’re saying this issue is due to software updates, which would be unlikely, you can call Ford and see if they can help out. There’s also a way to reach out to them on this forum.

Recall does not apply to my vehicle so HVBJB hasn't been replaced. I'm suspect that that is the failure. Ford Customer Advocate is involved now. I should be hearing back from them within 24 hrs.

Going through the same scenario with slightly different symptoms. AAA boosted dead 12 V battery (after popping frunk, etc.) and I thought the car was fine. Drove it home and left "on" since the 12 V gets charge from the HV. 15 minutes later car was totally off again. Tried trickle charge with battery connected to car and with battery isolated: with battery connected charged stopped after 5 seconds; with battery isolated would not take charge. Trickle charger will let car turn on so plan to put car in neutral to be towed to dealer. Likewise will update with results (even though there are a bazillion other 12V battery threads.)
Had vehicle towed to dealer. Battery replaced: "sulfurization noted and smelled". I asked "why didn't a get a warning when the car just turned off and would not turn back on?" The answer was an obscure "sudden catastrophic battery failure".

That is total BS, if you get a 'Service vehicle soon' warning that won't go away, and your car is in powertrain warranty, then they need to fix it not blame software. You might have to escalate this.

You might send me your VIN so I can see what the problem was.

Correct, sudden battery failure can happen with no warning. Sounds like a cell had an open or short and the battery boiled from the car trying to keep it alive.

@Mach-Lee , how can I send you my VIN? I see you on lots of posts and replies around the forum (thanks for all you are doing in our online community!) but I've been mostly on and off as needed so I probably missed that somewhere. Sorry...
