This is a bit off subject, but the first summer after getting my vehicle, I couldn't understand why the air conditioning was so ineffective. I eventually figured out that the vehicle arrived with all of the vents closed. I had been driving with the vents closed all winter--more than a bit embarrassing!

The windshield vents, and the floor vents, are on all the time. It was only the dashboard vents that were off. So in winter you fine since you probably hardly ever had the dash vents selected.

Please share what you learn. I live in a desert and the air blown out the vents is still stinky and musty (odometer is slightly over 3k miles). The couple threads I've seen here about it are not promising.

Change the cabin filter, there might be a mouse nest or droppings on top of it. If that doesn't fix the problem, then you'll have to remove the blower motor and foam the evaporator core (advanced DIY job).

Thanks, Lee. I'd read your post about having done this, did you ever post those photos? I'd only be willing to try this if I could get a look at it beforehand.

I have a pretty set routine and prepare cabin off plug, I’m only at 9k so shouldn’t need a cabin air filter.
We have had some very humid days and issue seems to be that it just doesn’t have the capacity to remove the moisture is why I was asking if anyone knew what the btu rating was. I’ll try calling Ford

Try turning on recirc mode.
And you have to keep turning it back on about every 15 minutes.

The issue with our cars in humid environments is that most of the time it’s pulling in hot moist outside air and won’t stay in recirc mode.
