No - not the driving version of tailgating - I want to hear about event tailgating.

We have a show we are going to attend, the gates open at 6pm, the show starts at 7pm. Parking lots open around 3, and it's an event where there will be a lively parking lot scene. I'd like to know other's experiences, if they have found anything about the MachE that works well in a setting like this. For this event we have a 85F daytime high temp forecasted, and I'd like to use the frunk with ice and beverages. How quickly will this melt or keep drinks cold? Have others used the car to power outside devices with anything creative? Any concerns about the 12v battery draining?

If you're going to power anything, leave the car running. Or, have a friend bring their Lightning... ;)

update: the weather was 95F, inside the garage was around 100+. I loaded up 60 lbs of ice (from sonic), and had about 15-18 beverages and some other fresh fruit type of stuff that needed to be cool. Loaded up at 2:30 PM. Drove for 60 mins on the interstate, the tailgated in the shade - temps still near 90F. By the time we got home at the end of the evening (1am), the ice was almost completely gone.

The frunk is a fun toy for a cooler, and I will use it again like this. But make no mistake - it is not good at keeping things cold.
