Well thats the thing NOW both Ford and GM are making them in Canada which I had said from the beginning makes more sense since we have the electricity and nickel here
Honestly though, whether it's an ICE plant or a BEV plant or a hybrid plant seems irrelevant. Like for instance the Mach-E being built at the Cuautitlan plant in Mexico. It was an open Ford plant that ceased Fiesta operation in 2019 so it was a perfect timing and size fit for the Mach-E.

Plants by major auto manufacturers are often location in the region of the world where most of the output is going. Toyota, Nissan, Honda, etc have plants in the US, where the bulk of the output is targeted for NA sales. Ford and Tesla and other do the same in China. I don't think too many of the vehicles made in China by non-Chinese automakers are intended to be sold outside China. China is pretty controlling with how they allow foreign automakers in.
