Next, sometimes when I turn the car on and start driving, the Ford navigation kicks in on its own and begins to route me to places such as home or a recent location. When I use navigation, it is exclusive through CarPlay, so I have no idea why it does this! I am forced to shut it off.
This is an annoying feature related to "My trends" in first nav. I think you can disable trends somehow in the map config

Thank you. The power comment is helpful, and I will make sure to watch for that. The liftgate button, in my experience, will only work when the car is in park, so I feel like it could be anywhere easier than where it is. Thanks.
The good news is, this has been one of the most popular and frequent feature requests for over a year.

I just want to say that if the whole hatch button thing really bothers you and you have enough confidence to do some slight wiring mods, you can replace your max defrost button with a hatch button. I did and it's one of my favorite little mods. Not that tough to do.

See here: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/adding-an-inside-liftgate-power-switch.6560/

And then --- profit! (sorry had to make a Quark joke somewhere here)

I am a new owner of a 23 Premium MME that I have been driving since 12/27/22. We have about 4,500 miles on it already, and there are a few quarks that I am hoping others may have seen and can help me troubleshoot. Overall, I am loving this vehicle, though.

First, both my wife and I use our iPhones as a key. I am 9 inches taller than her, and the seat memory settings are therefore quite different! The car cannot seem to figure out who is driving, and it almost randomly selects the seat memory on its own. I therefore am often scrunched up when I turn the car on if she is also in it. Even if I set the seat before turning it on, it will still just to my wife's setting, and I have to change it back again before driving.

Next, sometimes when I turn the car on and start driving, the Ford navigation kicks in on its own and begins to route me to places such as home or a recent location. When I use navigation, it is exclusive through CarPlay, so I have no idea why it does this! I am forced to shut it off.

Today when my wifed turned on the car, a message came on (see attachment) indicating that full accessory power was active, and it would not let her shift it out of park. I shut the car off for a few minutes and then tried again. It was fine.

Finally, does Ford have a place to enter enhancement requests or get answers (e.g. a support line) for these weird items that happen? My biggest annoyance is that you have to dig into the screen to get to the rear liftgate open from within the car. I don't for the life of me understand where there is not a physical switch or that the button is not located on the home screen. I would love to request this as an enhancement. I'm sure I am not alone on this one!

If anyone can provide some context around any of these issues, it would be welcomed as I continue to get my legs on using this car.

Regards,

Yes! This profile thing has totally confounded us. I have had my MME Premium about 7 weeks. It's my car so my seat button was number 1, first profile created, first phone, etc. I do use my phone as a key and have a fob. About a week later, my husband created his seat button number 2, second profile, phone, etc., and has a fob. No matter WHAT, every single time I got in the car it was adjusted to my husbands settings, and that was even if he had not driven it. I don't know if it could be picking up his phone signal from the house (car is in the garage) or just what the deal was. I was so frustrated at not being able to figure this out, that I deleted his profile, set all three buttons to my seat settings, deleted his phone from the menu, and whatever else was adjusted in the settings like one-pedal driving. I almost did a complete reset, but tried this first. I also bought a "faraday pouch" (from Amazon) for the fobs which he keeps his in so the signal can't be detected (which we tested by him bringing the fob in the pouch), and that works. All of it seems to work. I have my preferences when I get in it, my phone is connected, and what ever other settings are staying. However, this is a workaround to whatever problem is happening, and I shouldn't have to do this just to make the primary driver's settings stay.

As Andy said, you can replace the Max Defrost (not Mr. headroom) with a liftgate button. ??

I just came in to say that some might argue the MME has quite a lot in common with the spreadable, soft cheese called quark.

I do think one oddity with the MME's software overall is that everyone has a different issue. Some have profile issues with keys, others without, some with iPhones, others with Android. Some get updates, some get stalled. I feel like it's a million different bugs, wrinkles, and issues that have yet to be resolved. I don't know what kind of resources Ford has focused on getting the system out of development stage, but I bet they're not enough.

I agree that it is definitely a conflict as we both will have our phones with us. Not sure how to address it, but I hate getting scrunched up at will! thx for responding.

Profiles, setup properly, connect the seat buttons, PaaK, fobs, and the audio selection...
I thought I had done this correctly. I may see if the Ford dealer can help me. I don't understand exactly. Audio selection is a whole other matter. I use Apple Play, and it is pretty much survival of the fittest depending upon whether it picks up my son's, wife's or my phone! thx

The car is largely a software product. I have been in the SW industry my entire career, and this is systemic of a buggy product. Period. They are a car manufacturer. A lot of this IS very new to them, and I am sure the hardware/software integration is complex stuff in this new world. I would suspect the talent pool is still learning...

Totally. Tesla set out to build an electric car and were able to start with the software. Ford already builds cars, and turned some electric- software came second.

I would argue there isn’t a conflict between your phones, it’s just the software being “Ford.”
My wife has a Keyfob for my car. It is connected to her profile. She does not have PAAK set up on my car. I can be alone, MILES from home, nowhere near her, nowhere near her fob, with my fob in my pocket, my phone with PAAK in my pocket, no remote start… just walk up to car, start it, and it will randomly chose her profile over mine. Mach-E’s are just poor at recognition. Get used to pushing your door button when you get in before shifting to drive.

"Being Ford" certainly covers a wide range of circumstances!

No one but me ever drives my car; there is only my profile set up; I only use PaaK, no keyfob; and I get the Guest profile randomly. Fortunately there's no seats saved or anything, so the only difference between me and Guest (and I only noticed it this morning) is that it resets the audio to the factory settings and certain songs sound like garbage. I got angry at whoever remastered Lola and Should I Stay Or Should I Go until I realized the car was on Guest. I felt better once I'd switched to my profile and noticed the audio improved dramatically.

Does the GoM differentiate between drivers and historical driving styles when it does its crystal ball thing? My Guest data is just me so it's a bad test subject, but if my wife drove it regularly I bet there would be a significant difference in calculated range.
