Hi everyone!

So here's a little wrap-up on my machine experience after 5 months and 8500 miles.

I purchased a grabber blue first edition mid-January. Really clean example, FDRS report showed no service issues other than the recalls. Thought we were golden....
I’m guessing you are in the US, you recently bought a USED 2021 Job1. Interesting Ford is talking about Buyback, since typically that is only for new cars and even then for a limited time.

Sorry the USED car had so many problems.

NYS has buyback protection on used cars.

Im guessing NYS is going to mean New York State. Very happy you have that rare state level support!

social media always falsely skews number of complaint/problems as being greater than no problems. People often join forums to either find a solution or complain, just not typical for people to post how great everything's going. Had a 21 for 2.5 years zero issues, and eight months into a gt with an initial software glitch for charging that ford fixed.
I expect to have issues here and there. After all I do have a first edition. My major issue is just the frequency of things going wrong and the lack of compassion and service from ford. Look if a car has issues that's fine but the manufacturer should step up to the plate and help the customer out. Coming from a family with a long track record with GM, Subaru and now tesla, ford has by far provided the worst coustomer service ever. My mom had transmission issues with her last subaru and the company provided cash compensation to her without even filing a buyback request. Let alone always having a rental or loaner

Middle of Job 2 2021 GT-PE. The only major issue I have had was the HVBJB failure. I was expecting it, just not how it happened (3/4 throttle). I got some pre-production headrest plastics as a beta for the design that reduces the creaks. It didn’t have much noise to start with and even less after the plastics swap. Those are the only two times it’s been to a dealer service department. I have occasional little problems like the rear hatch thinking something is in the way when closing or “key not detected.” These aren’t really problems that bug me. ?‍♂?

Of course, I am still waiting for Poodle Lights. ??
The HVBJB issue I think has been a bit blown out of context. My dealer did mine in 2 days I think. My concern with it is the recall doesn't actually fix the hardware issue. I had the -e part installed and it failed after 3 months. Those little issues still shouldn't be happening. An issue is still an issue.

Yeah, once my dealer looked at my car I got it done in 2 days (then it took me going to the dealer physically to find out it was done since the SA never returned texts, emails, voicemails, or messages). I got a remanufactured version of the second generation GT part (LK9Z-10C666-BRM). I fully expect to blow it up again this summer so that I can get the third generation part. ?‍♂?

I wouldn't hold your breath for thr 3rd gen part working lol. And the crappy SA is honestly the biggest issue with ford.

There are very few reports of the LK9Z-10C666-C part failing compared with the first two generation parts. I expect that it might fail again, but that it won’t be as likely to fail. The SA issue is just a dealer issue. Next time I will use a different dealer. ?‍♂?

I've used 2 different ford dealers now, and other people I work with have had bad experiences with other dealers in buffalo. I think the software for the junction box is maybe a bit touchy now but ford really needs to engineer a better part.

I remember when we said exactly the same thing about the second generation. There were very few reports, for quite a while. It takes time for large numbers of people to get the next gen part installed and then run it for a few tens of thousands of miles to see the ultimate failure rate.

I hope you're right, though...

The quickest GT failure was a Gen2 part. Owner failed it pulling out of the dealer’s driveway after signing the finance paperwork. As far as GTs go, we knew pretty much right away that the -B part was bunk. ??

I am surprised you still have the car after this many issues. I would either try buyback or sell it and move on.

My 2021 MME with 42K miles bought brand new has spent 0 days in dealer repair. Only problem is the software glitches. OTA updates fixed a lot of it already.

Ford is taking forever to get back to me about buyback. I'm most likely going to replace it with a tesla model 3 or volvo c40...there's always a chance I go back to a gas car too :/
