Mach-E Window Washer Fluid

Does anyone know if Motorcraft window washer fluid is the same window washer fluid the Mach-E is filled with before sale? If so, looks like the only way to get Motorcraft window washer fluid is through a dealership?

It’s a minor thing, but I really like the way that the Mach-E’s window washer fluid smells and now that I’ve gotten a notification from my Mach- E that it is running low, I want to refill it with the OEM window washer fluid.

Not sure what it is, but mine has a very strong rubbing alcohol smell even from inside the cabin.

Lol I most definitely don’t, but something about this vehicle’s window washer fluid struck a chord.

Oh yeah, the opposite side of the bottle is like 40% skulls and exclamation points.

That aroma is probably methanol, a VOC - volatile organic compound. The Air Resources Board has determined that it is a major cause of ozone pollution. The concentrate may be sold by the dealer but you can’t mix it to more than 1% in most of California.

A premixed version is only legal to 32° except in the mountain counties that get snow.

Washer fluid, light bulbs, toilets, gas cans, acetone, water faucets, shower heads - add it to the shopping list for the Nevada Home Depot.

If you want to "spike" your washer fluid with more methanol, buy a yellow bottle of HEET and add it to the fluid. Yellow HEET is pure methanol similar to the Motorcraft concentrate. I've had to do this a few times when they're out of -30ºF fluid at the store.

This is hilarious! The other day my wife and I were talking about how we hated the smell of the washer fluid, and began brainstorming alternate scents: cinnamon, pine, new car, and bacon all came to mind. Might be a market out there for this!

OK, I’m big on OEM parts , but whatever Ford put in my 2025 Mach E is pretty strong smelling stuff. As soon as this runs out, I’ll refill with the same WalMart fluid that we have in our Flex.
