Yeah, they definitely did not customer-test that smell.

Cannot wait to be through it and get to Rain-X or something else that does not smell like a combination of wiper fluid and cologne/perfume/cheap scented candles.
Be aware that Ford has a specific caution in the manual to not use Rain-X. Effects the glass coating.

It's a windshield washer, can't we just use one that is readily available in the gas station?

The Amber washer light just went on. I filled it with generic -35C pink juice. Kudos to Ford for calibrating the light, so that the reservoir takes a full gallon of washer fluid! That's Ford Performance!

The smell is strong but I have a side question. Is it normal for the smell to be so present inside the car. I was about to take the car into the dealer because I thought perhaps there was a leak and it was coming into the car somewhere. This is on our 2023, but I did not notice it as much on our 2021 model.

The fluid does spray on to our windshield, but at times, it wouldn’t spray but I was able to smell it inside the car. Any thoughts on this or any similar experiences?

Hi ?,
I have noticed in my 2023 GT Performance, that my get a lot of outside smells waft through the cabin. I just chalked it up to mean that filter is less efficient than my 2019 Mustang. I have read in here (I think even in this thread) that replacing the stock cabin filter with a better one, reduces the smells. Good luck!!

Sorry for reviving an old-ish thread, but after 7 months of ownership, my low fluid warning light finally came on and I wanted to know what Ford's OE fluid was.

Also wanted to mention something that I noticed with the OE washer fluid. It doesn't seem to leave a blue film on the car where it pools, drips and dries. Not really a fan of the strong smell like some of the weirdos here (JK ?), but I feel it cleans better than any other brand washer fluid I've used other vehicles.

Howdy,

I have been purchasing Motorcraft - Solution-Windshield Washe (ZC32M20EG) from Amazon. It doesn't have the same smell, but it works as the original that my car was delivered with did. Good luck!

Not sure about the washer fluid - it's the OEM air I need. I topped off my Pirellis with aftermarket air, and it just feels wrong.
Believe it or not, my dealer tried to charge me $289 for putting nitrogen in the tires! They left it in when I told them I wasn’t paying for it.

I’ve used both Prestone Bug iirc, cause that’s what we had on hand, and more recently RainX bug. Both work fine, but honestly the ceramic coating on the windshield reduces the need for much bug removal — splat and slide. :p
