Considering replacing my old gas 2200psi pressure washer for a higher psi electric version.

Gas unit came to me for free but needed a new pump. Got maybe $100 in it total.

It works fine for washing the car but is underpowered when it comes to washing the deck or reaching 2nd story windows for cleaning and wasp nest removal.

What would you suggest?

I stumbled on this video couple days ago. Ryobi came out with a 3000 PSI electric washer. With the included nozzle it tested 2700PSI. I'm a fan of Ryobi, especially since it's backed with Home Depot's return policy and Ryobi's 3yr warranty. A bit steep though at $399 which is more than your typical gas pressure washer.

I looked into it and decided to stick with gas washer for a few more years, 120 v electric pressure washers only have about 2 HP(12A/ ~1500w = ~2HP) which limits you to roughly 3000 psi @ 1 gpm. Need commercial 240v pressure washer to get decent flow and pressure for deck washing etc which seems to run around $2k to start for 10HP or so unit which will use around 30A @ 240v

I've looked at a few electric versions available at Lowes. They seem to be in the $4-500 range.

If I can't get a significant boost above what I have already it doesn't seem to be worth the expense. Mine does the job but on the deck it is slow going. Fortunately I only do that chore once a year or so.

Not looking to spend $2grand at this time either.

No Menards in TN, unfortunately.

My current washer has 2200psi at 1.9gpm.

If I can't get a significant upgrade at a decent price I'll just stick with the devil I know.

Seems anything larger hits $500 or so pretty quick

ah yeah sounds like you already have about as good as it gets for the price range at least as far as electric goes. The upgrade IMO would be the switch to electric as it's MUCH nicer to use.

OK one-upping my last post. Get an electric pressure washer directly from Greenworks. They have a 25% sale for memorial day.

Electric is such a nice change for pressure washing.
My cheap one is significantly under powered compared to my 25 year old gas, but quiet oh so quiet.

I have the Ryobi 2300psi electric and lover it. Strong enough for decks without ripping the wood apart.....although if you get too close it can still do that.

The gas sink can be used when there is no access to electricity. As it is, if you don't have that problem, then electricity is preferable to me. Although I do not constantly use a high-pressure washer, I am enough to turn to the platform sparklewash.com a couple of times a year, to wash the house's facade, the roof, and the driveway. And my brother decided to buy a powerful electric washer with which he could scrub the paint off the surfaces. Fortunately, he earns money with it, and I do not need such a machine.

If you have a Sam's Club membership, you can get a Sun Joe 3000psi model for $260. It's not brushless though so it is a little bit louder than the brushless ones.
