I don't think you want to do a lifting kit on a GTPE, if it were me I would take advantage of michelin's promise plan exchange those with proper size on that vehicle or the 255/45/20 which should not rub and would give you a similar ride

The forks at discount should know better than to recommend that size. Automobile manufacturers usually will allow for a 3% variance in size that 255 50 20 is just shy of 5% difference That's too much

I appreciate your input and am going to head over to Discount Tire tomorrow and inquire about the Michelin promise plan. I even purchased the tire certificates, not saying that’ll do anything with this situation, but hopefully between the two I’ll be able to order the 45 tire wall size.

This is the tire I'm thinking about going to on my GT. Have you noticed any impact on the range?

I have not really noticed any range depletion… but I’m not a good indicator for this measure.

I keep it in unbridled mode most of the time and tend to be heavy on the peddle. My weekly clocked miles, including commute to work…. Roughly 65-70 miles/week. I charge once every 16-18 days. I’ve charged once since getting the tires last month due to Christmas vacation & a work conference.

i’ll tell you this, though, even with the rubbing of the inner wall because the tires are a little too tall at the 50 wall thickness… These tires kick butt! It’s been cold, it’s been hot & humid, dry, windy, it’s rained monsoon style, and even just sprinkled to give oily slick roads —> they are very stable and smooth riding compared to the original tires the GTPE came with in the few weeks I’ve used them.

After a bunch of back and forth with him, I went with 255/45/20 on 8.5x20 +42 and 285/40/20 on 10x20 +52.

Left is the 285 and right is the original 245.

I appreciate the advice! Circling back to close the loop, Discount Tire honored the exchange and set me up with:
255/45 R20s all around, Michelin Cross Climate 2s.

No rubbing, and rides amazing ??

Absolutely. Running your 18" tires with 5"+ sidewalls will definitely soften the ride but because the sidewalls have more flex, your overall handling, cornering, steering response and traction at high speeds is reduced. I do understand that many that drive the Mach-E are not interested in the performance of their car and only use it for a DD back and forth to work (most likely in the city) and 18's would be perfect for that. However, if you want any kind of performance out of your car, especially one this heavy, starting with 20" wheels/tires with lower profile sidewalls is the way to go.

Yep, I addition to my 18" "trip wheels" and my 18" winter wheels, I also have a set of 20" rims and wheels for the summer months...currently waiting to try the new Lexani EV centric tires when it warms up...

Thanks all! I ended up going with the 255/45/20 Conti DWS06 all around and so far from what I've noticed the ride is great. Albeit I've only driven about 20 miles on them from Discount Tire to my home, but he ride was smooth, quiet, and very comfortable. Wheels are RTR and I love the stance.. I get that range will be slightly impacted but given I've only driven 600 miles in almost two months and all my driving is local, I'm happy with it.
