Trying to understand how this is applied.

The screen shot below is me giving it 50-60% or so throttle, -14c outdoor temp with a 8c battery temp.

The vehicle allowed well over 400amps draw from the battery, that times 304.6v is over 100kw discharge.

If the vehicle has decided 42.5kw given the temps and SoC, why can i still draw so much?

I don’t think that parameter is scaled correctly in Car Scanner.

ChatGPT seems to think that although even with a Max discharge set the vehicle can draw well beyond that for short periods of time. The Max function only kicks in to prevent sustained high kw draw.

I have felt something like this once, flooring it from a low speed, after 2-3 seconds i felt the power get reduced during the acceleration.

Ok i think your right about car scanner, i think its backwards, meaning it is referring to potential Max charging limit, not Discharge limit.

I left this morning with a pre-conditioned battery at 100% charge (pre-con only got it to 15c btw). as shown in the pics the "max discharge rate" was 25.75kw, doesn't make sense at all. Warm battery and full charge. I should be at the upper limit, however this would make sense for a charging limit.

After an hour or so of driving, 2nd pic (took a iPhone screen shot vs a photo) the battery was up to 17c from driving (pretty impressive considering it was -15c outside) with a SoC of 62% and the "max power limit" hit 63kw.

I don't Fast charge very often, haven't needed too once since getting this vehicle so its something I'll have to test one day in the future.

My other question, those Jail Bars limiting full acceleration. I never saw them go away even with a 15c battery and 80% plus SoC, is that just the limit for a Select AWD LFP? ( I know the gauge isn't meant to be active on non-Gt models)

Again, I do not think that parameter is scaled correctly in Car Scanner on LFP vehicles. The actual power limit is much higher than what it says.

Your vehicle is not meant to display jail bars, so those may also be inaccurate. Do they ever change? Your vehicle will not be able to develop as much power at a Mach-E GT.
