Subject: Feedback on Adaptive Cruise Control and Speed Sign Recognition – Mustang Mach-E

Dear Ford Team,

I would like to provide some constructive feedback on the current behavior of the Mustang Mach-E’s Adaptive Cruise Control in combination with the Traffic Sign Recognition system. These issues affect both safety and compliance with traffic regulations in Europe:

1. Do not automatically increase speed above the driver’s set limit.
When I manually set the cruise control to a lower speed (e.g. 80 km/h on a country road in rain, due to wildlife, or while towing a trailer), the system should not automatically accelerate to a higher speed when a 100 km/h sign is detected. In these situations, the driver’s chosen maximum speed must take priority for safety.

2. Delayed deceleration at city limit signs.
Currently, when entering a town (50 km/h limit), the vehicle often passes the sign too fast and only then gradually reduces speed. This can lead to legal violations, since the speed limit applies immediately at the sign. Interestingly, before curves the system already anticipates earlier and brakes smoothly. A similar anticipatory approach for town signs would be safer and more compliant.

Suggestion: Please consider allowing the system to combine sign recognition with map data, so that deceleration can begin slightly before the town sign. This would provide smoother driving and ensure legal compliance.

I am convinced that addressing these points would significantly improve both safety and customer satisfaction.

Thank you for your attention, and for continuously improving the Mach-E through software updates.

Sincerely,
Sponsored

hey then ur missing some updates dude. I would imagine that this was already rolled out across Europe. So Ford did listen and did. make a change. But the rectangular yellow city signs are missing but u shouldnt cruisecontrol in the city in some cases.

Ford may or may not see your post and it may or may not end up in the correct hands if they do. The best bet is to use the feedback feature in the car. You’ll also be able to use your native language and should end up at Ford Europe.

You can turn that feature off.

They have already done this in the latest software.

I don't activate cruise control during inclement weather or when wildlife or pedestrians are present.
I also don't use CC in the city or in congested traffic. I generally only use CC on highways or county roads with 55 mph speed limits.
I disabled the sign recognition the day after I bought my MME.

If Predictive Speed Assist didn’t adjust the speed when it saw a sped limit sign would it still be Predictive Speed Assist?

While I personally reside in *sunny* Michigan, I will send this feedback to my European friends. Thanks for sharing.
