I have scheduled charging set to 90% for weekdays 11pm - 6am and anytime on weekends. I plugged my car in the afternoon sometime yesterday. This morning I checked FordPass app and was surprised to see that it hadn't charged, still at 68%. I went to the car to double-check and it's still at 68%. The charging screen shows "waiting for preferred charging time" and start charging 11pm thursday.

So I'm left wondering why it missed charging last night. Is there any way to diagnose what happened?

Could you have lost power at home briefly? I sometimes get power hiccups where we don’t really lose power for more than a second. Maybe that would glitch the schedule. Just spitballing here. I’ve had schedule glitchs on other items but never my MachE.

Probably not, we have a home generator that notifies me of power outages. This is the first time I've had it miss a scheduled charge. I don't plug in every day, usually every 3 days or so.

It’s hard for me to explain what I’m referring to. It not a power outage but more of a power hiccup. It’s like the power loses voltage for a brief second or something. It’s not enough to really lose power but it glitches the lights and some electronics.

I admit I’m probably grasping at straws here. I do hope you figure out what causes it so you don’t run into issues down the road.

I don't know if it would alert me to a power hiccup so I suppose that's possible. Since the car knows that it's plugged in I was hoping there would be some kind of diagnostics or message on why it skipped the charging. It shows scheduled for tonight so I may stay awake until 11pm and go check it out.

My car had a scheduled charge set to start at 10pm that did not start till 1 am. Worked fine the following night. I was wondering if the garage was too hot for the charge to start secondary to our recent heat wave in FL or just a software glitch.

This has happened to us as well. The only thing I can think of is the car was doing a software check at the exact time it was supposed to start charging, and once it missed, it doesn't bother starting. Ford really needs to up their game when it comes to reliability. I can say this has only happened twice in a year of ownership but it's really annoying. Note that I'm also using the mobile charger on a 50A 240v socket.

I deliberately set the software check to happen at 3am which is 4 hrs later, in my case they shouldn't be conflicting. The car did charge last night so it was just a glitch. I hope it won't be a common occurrence, would really be annoying if it happened on a day I'm going out of town.

there has been an update or 2 that messes with this. While our charge times are set on the Charger and the max charge % for the home location are set on the car, we have had the car start charging to 100% at home and we had to delete the home charger location from the car and recreate it.

I'm using the mobile charger. I haven't found a reason to get a standalone charger, I don't expect to ever need to bring the mobile charger with me anywhere. I don't think there are any settings on the mobile charger to worry about.

This... I have 2 EVs, and have had the exact same thing happen to both of them. My charger does not seem to like any fluctuations like during storms, and won't charge until I completely re-set the unit after the issue.
