Last week, the TPMS sensors for all four tires went off, so I brought the car to a nearby dealer to get the tires checked out. They checked for leaks, re-pressurized the tires and sent me on my way.

I didn't notice it when I first drove away, but ever since that visit, the car no longer unlocks the doors when I approach. It does turn the lights on when I approach, but nothing happens when I press the door buttons. I have to use the keyfob lock / unlock to get in. The same with the trunk.

The dealer thinks I need to bring it in, but my schedule is a bit busy. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a setting I need to toggle?

The dreaded tire pressure failure.

Did you check the door lock settings in the car?

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

Are you sure the battery in your fob just isnt low? Are you also seeing this behavior with PaaK or a second fob?

Also check the lock settings in Sync. It is possible the dealer disabled that feature on lot for liability reasons. Don't want cars accidentally unlocking from catching a sniff of the fob.

@Arsenic17 @AliRafiee Thanks for getting back. Is there a specific setting that would control this? I looked through Sync and couldn’t find anything that looked like it would affect this feature.

I dont see anything specifically in the manual for it, but maybe I am missing it. Could be Auto Unlock, or Passive Entry.

Or maybe you are right, they did mess up the receiving antenna in your car for the FOB when fixing your pressure sensors.

Each door has its own antenna, making it unlikely they messed up all 5. At least from a hardware perspective. Maybe some software glitch was introduced?

I don't think reception from the fob could be the problem because pressing the buttons on the fob works perfectly.

The lights also light up on approach, but I'll check later today to see if that's a result of PaaK or the fob (I always have my phone on me when I approach the car).

Just to be clear, the Mach-E does not unlock the doors on approach. When you get within a meter of the door button with a FOB or PaaK, and then push the button, it opens. If you have it set to unlock all 4 doors, the other 3 will then unlock, not requiring a person to have a FOB or PaaK on them. If you have it set to unlock only the driver's door (safest option), then the driver has to reach in and push the unlock button on the inside to unlock the other doors.

Correct. That's the behavior I'm expecting, and what I had in place before.

A few weeks ago, i also wasn't able to get into the car approaching it. It happened a few days before a scheduled dealer appointment. The solution was a BCM module update (SSM 49676 is what i have on the repair notes). Worked like a charm.

Thank you! I'll mention this to the dealer.

In case anyone is still following along, I brought my MME in for its routine 30k service (to a different dealer!). I didn't ask them to look into this because I didn't have time to wait.

When the car got back from service, the unlock-on-approach worked. The only thing on the repair report was the charge port recall, which is probably not related. I'm not sure what changed, but it's working now. Possibly there was some kind of configuration issue from the previous visit that just gets routinely fixed as part of a regular service?

This started happening to me. Has anyone fixed this without going to the dealership?
