Because I charge for free at work I don't charge at home very often. With a flex work schedule, I only go into the office maybe 3 days a week, so on the last day I plan on being in for a particular week I'll charge to 90%, which usually gets me through a weekend. I might return to work on the following Monday at 10-20% charge and then repeat the cycle. If I need to top up at home, I'll do so but have my limit set to 50%.

Tipping a mobile tech? Not something I would do and once you start doing that it’s going to be always expected. It’s also can be very awkward to determine an amount and if too small may be interpreted as an insult. If you don’t like the service do you then not tip? If this is required, then would prefer any such charge be part of a remote service fee that is documented in the cost the dealer gets from the manufacturer for warranty work or what customers would pay for out of warranty work. That being said. a thank you and good review is a nice way to appreciate good work done by a remote tech.

I charged everyday like some have said and my battery SOH went down to 88% when the car was 18 months old. I changed my charging strategy since I use this car as a community, and I have an ICE truck as a backup. I was able to get it back to 93% on a now 3 year old car. I only charge when I’m below 40%, most it’s the time 20-30%. OF course, YMMV, so draw your own conclusions. I now charge to 80%, and once every 2 months or so I do a single charge to 100%, which I found is good for the battery and cell rebalancing.

As for tipping, people in the USA tip too much. I find myself going to fast food places, and they want a tip. Mechanics don’t expect a tip, so I wouldn’t sweat it.
