Money FROM Dealership?

I'm bad. I don't check my mail every day. Today I checked it and found a check from my dealership for $500.00. No letter or explanation included. The only amount that matches this is the amount of my original deposit back in June 2021. Anybody have any idea what this might be for? I took delivery of my car in May 2022 so it would not make sense that it has anything to do with the recent price reductions.

Referral maybe? I just don't trust "free" money from a car dealership ?

Your deposit not being credited to your purchase. Which, if you missed that in May 2022, that's on you.

Sounds like it didn’t get applied on purchase. We almost forgot and only remembered after we put our down payment in. Caught it before we finalized everything and just added $500 to the down payment amount versus a refund.

I wonder how many here have forgotten and the dealer just pocketed it, purposely or otherwise.

My paperwork shows the $500 in price calculation but I mean what else could it be right? At any rate, the money is now in my bank account. I'm over trying to solve this mystery ??.

Now where's that GD AA update I keep reading about! ?
