Hi all,
I didn't find a thread that shared experiences from the dealerships that we've all worked with but thought it could be very useful.
I'll start bc I've had two experiences of local dealers that were night and day. I'll first state that I don't get have my MachE so I can only attest to the order process at this point.

Matthews Currie, Nokomis Fl
First, my sales guy Mario actually knew cars which is refreshing. We get drove one, love it and came back to order the next day. Easy peasy. 10 minutes of paperwork. A verbal yes on x-plan (i know, should have gotten it in writing), no deposit a printed sales order and it the door I went. About a week later he called to let me know a premium almost identical to mine had become available after a customer backed out. They wanted a 5k mark up. I wasn't in a rush so I passed on it, but it was nice of him to give me first option on it.

Sarasota Ford, Sarasota FL

I'm out a second order bc of this dealership. They should change their name to Shady Ford of Sarasota.
I walked in on 2/11 to order a Mach-E. I was told I had 20 minutes to get the order in before the order bank for the MachE closed by Ford. No problem... I knew exactly what I was ordering. I also knew that it should only take 5 minutes bc we had just placed an order for myself (this one was for my husband) at a different Ford dealer. I'm not sure why, but the guy taking my order kept leaving me there to sit and wait. Now, there were no negotiations going on... I knew the price was too be Msrp. Same guy comes back and asks for my deposit. He tells me it'll be $1000. I asked why there was a deposit(other dealer didn't charge one) he said, "so if I cancel my order Ford will know this was a legitimate customer order and not one the dealer placed so they can take it into their inventory and make an extra 10k on it." Ok, fair enough. " i gave him my cc info. Order was placed within the time frame they gave me to ensure the order would be placed. I was not initially given the order confirmation until I asked for it. Upon reviewing it, there were 'mandatory accessory charges for time windows, door guard etc... none of which I wanted. I went back in to talk to a manager who told me that my order wasn't able to be placed that night and they'd have to wait until Monday to 'see if they could get it in'. Now I'm confused bc order was placed in time allotted, sales guy confirmed it was put in, now manager said they didn't have a way to submit to Ford that night. Next day (Saturday) manager calls to tell me they were unable to get my order in and "Ford had closed its order bank for the MachE. I called back to speak with the original sales person I wanted to order through and he told me that the guy who pushes the orders to the Ford Order bank was not there last night. The whole thing was a farse from the beginning.

I'd love to hear your stories on both ordering or buying one off the lot.

There are over 3,000 Ford dealers. A thread with hundreds or thousands of posts rating them would be useless.

You might want to do two things. First, get the moderator to move this to the geographic section for Florida. Second, spend some time reading through the forum. There are many threads with dealership experiences, both good and bad.

Ordering is closed for CA RT1 and Premium for 2022.

Some dealers insist on add one. Pick another dealer. Any Premium on the lot will very likely be over MSRP.

I placed my order online on 2/22. Within 15 minutes I got a text from the dealer I selected welcoming me and asking me to either come in to give them a copy of my drivers license and look at the order sheet and sign it. Or send me photos of DL and mailed back a signed copy of the order sheet which he also emailed me I made my $500 deposit online before I went to the dealership and things went exactly as they said. When I was there I found out about the ice white package and decided to upgrade my order to all-wheel-drive extended battery ice white
He went in the back and returned with another order sheet indicating my changes which I signed he gave me a copy told me to wait at least a month or so before I saw any action on the Ford website and wished me good luck.

I think my experience indicates your experience with the second dealership was just them mounding up big piles of lies. Some dealerships are experts at it
Plus the standard deposit is $500

While the standard deposit is $500, dealers may increase that as they wish. Nothing disreputable about that, unless they make it non-refundable.

That wasn't my gripe. My problem was that they took my order, decided to put it through on their own and tell me that the Ford Order banks are closed to the MachE on Feb. 11. If you read through, Ford continued to take orders on that model until somewhere near the end of Feb. So, this dealer took my order so they could call it a customer order and will now have a premium in their stock to sell with a mark up

It is better to look in one place rather than scour the thousands of posts over 2 years, but thanks for your input.

Any reason why you cannot just search for the dealer you are interested in to see whether or not there are related posts? Not sure I understand why a single, sprawling mega post with hundreds of pages to it would be any better than using the search functionality.

On a different but related note, sorry for your dealer experience. Definitely stinks.

Seems unnecessary. It’s not like they’re going to have difficulty moving the car should you opt out. I’m glad I did the 500 online I would recommend everyone go that route. I expect a little hard selling from Earnhardt dealership here in Chandler Arizona now that The legendary Tex Earnhardt Is dead.

Does not work quite that way. If a dealer places and order in a customer name and does not sell it to the customer it has negative effects on their allocations. Not sure why they treated you that way but it was horrible service and I certainly would not choose to use their services in the future.

I would suggest that we all post reviews on our local Dealership experiences on Google/Yelp. That way anybody taking the time to check them out before placing an order has something to go on.... not just Forum Members.

My order experience:

1. Emailed multiple Ford dealership in my area, including some CarPro USA dealers - only 2 got back to me.

2. Decided on the dealer I wanted to use to order my GTPE. They placed the order, had me sign a sales sheet, email them back with my license. They told me no deposit is necessary but I could make one if I wanted. I decided not to make the deposit.

3. Formal order placed on 11/15/21.

4. There was a price increase in December and I was concerned so I emailed by dealer and the confirmed back in writing, my price is locked in and I would not be subject to the price increase. They also confirmed no ADM on this or any vehicle they sell.

5. Got my order email from Ford, car in prodution on 2/21. Built 5 days later and shipped 2 days later with an ETA of the end of March.

6. So very happy with all aspects.

I read this post 3 times to make sure that I'm not missing something, LOL.

For this thread to be useful we need dealers' names, as the OP said, especially good ones like this.
Whoever it is. :)

Then, as someone suggested, using the search engine on this thread would work.

Thanks all. I find it helpful to hear of all the dealer experiences in one place even if we don't plan to use a specific dealer it helps to hear what our expectations should be by reading others. Now I want to look up week what CarPro USA is. ?
