One interesting side note. I received a call last night from the sales manager asking me if there was any issues with my trade in vehicle. I have had very few issues over the past 9 years with it, but apparently they had to tow it back to the dealership after they drove off with it. Not sure what happened on the 30 minute drive back, but it was running great for me.
OK -- any updates on this aspect of the story? Did they give you any financial hassle about it?

Glad to hear you had such a great experience. I'm hoping mine goes just as well.

Quick question about how you did Ford Options. I thought I saw some threads that indicated that doing the Ford Options online might not get you the rate and bonus from the time of order. Did you have to do anything special to get the 2.7% rate (and I'm assuming bonus cash?)?

I'd love to be able to fill out all the paperwork online instead of waiting in the dealer for print-outs and the like, but I'd also like to get the offers that were in place at the time of order.
Nothing specific. The finance guy checked on the rate from when I ordered (10/14) and said he can offer that.

The sales manager didn't mention anything when I spoke to him last night. I left a message to provide more information on a separate inquiry I made (I thought I left something in the trade in vehicle), and asked if he had any more information. I have yet to hear back from him.

Thanks. Maybe I'll try doing everything online. So far, I've been getting pretty good information back from my dealer, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm pretty sure there is no way you can do anything online if you wanted promotions/rates during time of order.

For me, there was no PP/Options bonus/Options APR lock/2021->2022 $750 discount constantly clicking things online to Complete Purchase.

OK. That seems more inline with what I was reading, I guess my hopes for an online-only experience are now dashed.

I'm hoping my car really does come in by the end of the month, and I'm hoping for as smooth an experience as has been reported here!

With all the bad experiences I've been hearing I thought I'd post my story.

My vehicle arrived at the dealership on Monday and I was immediately called by my salesperson. He wanted to find out when I could come down and pickup my car. Unfortunately Monday didn't work for me as I needed to drive to the airport after work to pickup my sister and her kids. (Dealership is 30 minute drive without traffic, an hour with traffic.) Tuesday wasn't looking good as we planned a birthday dinner for my daughter. Wednesday and Thursday the salesperson was off so it was looking like Friday was going to be the earliest I could get there. When i spoke with him on Tuesday he suggested that they could drop it off and bring the paperwork to me. I was like Hell Yes!! I filled out the credit application online and a little old lady (Barb) drove my car from the dealership and met me at home. All the paperwork was already filled out and we just needed to sign it and give the down-payment. She handed me the keys and drove off in my old dodge dart (sad to see it go). This was all done so quickly and seamlessly that we got it done in time to go out to dinner for my daughter's bday. I took the Ford Option with an amazing 2.7% since that was what it was when I ordered it.

The Ford Store Morgan Hill has got to be one of the best Ford Dealerships around. They were amazing!

Adding on another positive experience with Ford Store Morgan Hill. Was finally able to pick up my IBSM Premium AWD ER on Friday night and it was a great car-buying experience. Unfortunately, there was some minor damage (a scratch I think) that happened during shipping so they made sure to get that fixed up before I took delivery. The process from arriving at the dealer to driving off the lot was about 2 hours (I'm really glad they're open so late!) including trade-in of my old Clarity, walkthrough of my MME, and filling out the paperwork. I worked with Jordan Byler and he was great throughout the 9 months from order to delivery. Here are some highlights of my experience:
  • Jordan kept me updated on the status of my order throughout the process and was easy to get in touch with when I had questions (like the park assist feature that held up scheduling).
  • Fair trade-in value for my Clarity was consistent with KBB and some other online car buying sites and everything was processed smoothly.
  • My salesman was knowledgeable about price protection, X-plan pricing, and I was able to get the 2.7% Options rate and applicable incentives from time of order ($2,500 Options plus $750 CA clean air rebate).
  • Filled out credit app on their website in preparation for taking delivery which was painless and I'm sure sped up the process as much as possible.
  • The team was thorough about explaining the financials including fees, trade-in value, incentives, and net purchase price.
  • Jesus the finance manager was patient and did a great job explaining all of the paperwork and process. No hard sale for add-ons either!
They said I should receive the price protection check within a few weeks after Ford processes it but I appreciate their transparency throughout the process and not pulling any of the stunts I've read about from other dealers on this forum. Would highly recommend them to folks in the Bay Area.

I’ll chime in my “not all dealers are scumbags” experience here. I picked mine up from Norm Reeves Ford recently and by and large it was a solid experience.

To get all of the gripes out of the way upfront: they did try to add the useless extras on the vehicle but upon request removed them promptly without me having to get upset or anything. Also, it took a bit (but not a lot) of time to get Options sorted out, I guess a lot of people come in with independent financing or cash payments.

Otherwise, stellar service all around. I actually had the locked-in interest rate wrong (thought it was 2.7%, but to my pleasant surprise they corrected me and told me it was actually 2.4%). Everyone I spoke with from the sales guy to the finance guy to the sales manager seemed pleasant, straightforward, honest, and generally very willing to keep my blood pressure at manageable levels. At the end they helped get my car set up with the basics and sent me off to fiddle with the rest settings on my own (which I wanted to do).

Good group of people, I’d definitely recommend them for a dealer. Shoutout to Mohammed (good luck on your PhD!), Jeremy, Yusef (I think he goes by Joe, apologies if I have that wrong), and George.
