We ordered a Star White Select on March 1 2022. I just got a call saying that the Technology and comfort package has been deleted and there is probably no way to add it back. Also the base price increased around $3000. I guess the Price Protection may come into play for the ordered price but I don't think any compensation will be in order for the deleted feature. They had deleted the park assist a number of months ago and we were fine with that but since my wife suffers from neuropathy in her hands a heated steering wheel was required for the winter along with the heated seats. Forthcoming Mach E's will feel very stripped down I think.

The price going up along with deleting features that were essential for us I think we will probably bow out of the Mach E sweepstakes. It was a fun ride. Everyone who got a nice Mach E Premium (the Premium trim was perfect for us but we were alas too late to order one) at a good price should feel very blessed.

Sorry to hear that, especially if heated equipment is required for you due to medical conditions. The jump to premium is too big for a lot of people since Ford seems to only be giving you the $3000 difference in Select MSRP.

Yeah someone said they were told by their dealer to wait for the offer to come in, as Ford has to be aware that they are completely stripping features from the Select. I wouldn't be surprised if they have some offer to change to a trim that has those features and retain at least most of the price protection.

We have a 2021 select. Our foot release tailgate thingie doesn't work anymore. Never really did work worth a darn.

There’s numerous threads at this point, but you can upgrade your order to a Premium. As others suggest, Ford’s private offer may help even out the increase.

You can find heated seat covers for less than $200.
I've never looked for heated steering covers, but a nice pair of driving gloves might be just as good?

I.m happy with my Select, and wouldn't mind at all if it had even fewer of the 'options' they charge extra for that I'll never use. I'd rather pick and choose to add individual upgrades I really want rather than pay thousands more and get stuck with a bunch I'll never use.

The backup camera is about the only really handy thing... especially useful since the view to the back is somewhat limited.

i.e. I'd be just as happy with NONE of the 'driver assist' features which I am sure add a lot of cost with sensors, wiring and software. I'd be fine with non-powered seats and manual crank roll-up windows for that matter. I'm not even a fan of the giant center console screen.... I just wish the standard display gave more useful information like real-time temps and power input/output

Eh. FMC. If you need to remove any more features, how about yanking out the piece of crap Chinese hi voltage contactors you slapped on most of the early model cars ….you dimwits

Jes sayin. Rant over. Errr no …..

Oh, and by the way, you are idiots to have a heated steering wheel but not cooled seats you dumbasses. It was 111° in Scottsdale yesterday.
And let’s not mention the hidden anemic 12V under the frunctious panels of plastic doom. Nice layout pinheads…

There I feel better

I just want to say Heated steering wheel + heated seat + remote start is a must have if your winter is cold. Probably my most liked feature of the car. The remote start turns on all the heated features, and the resistive heater works really fast. Give it 5 Min and you are all good. My ICE Mercedes remote start was a joke. Only turns engine on and no real heat comes out because the engine is cold.

Unfortunately I don't think ford allows trim change according to the guy in the thread below.

Yeah, for those of us who actually have a “winter,” the heated steering wheel is a game changer. I had active ventilation in my Acura RDX and liked it on hot days, but it came nowhere close to being as necessary or effective as a heated steering wheel. Cold steering wheels will just transfer all of that chill into your bones, and it stays deep in your hands even if the cabin has started to warm.

Just based on how it suits my lifestyle and location, I won’t purchase another car that doesn’t have a heated steering wheel or Apple CarPlay. I think being full-electric is getting to that level of “must have” also, but until we start seeing minivans or larger SUVs go full electric, that one will have to remain optional for my wife’s car.

Looks like you just joined the forum recently. Just as a heads up, this thread is nearly 3 years old. I did the same thing 3 or 4 times before beginning to check the date before posting.

Possibly. I know I wasted a fair amount of time on old posts and was trying to save someone else from doing same.
