I just bought a 2023 CR1 (love it!).

I keep turning off the motion sensors within the Vehicle>Alarm settings because I take my dog with me when I run errands, but the sensors keep turning back on.

As a workaround until I find a solution, I toggle Ask on Exit, so I can turn the sensors off every time I leave the car.

Any ideas?

On a more general question of computer glitches, should I keep track of them and then report them to my Ford dealer? Can the glitches be fixed with OTA updates or fixes, or do I need to bring my "pony" in to be checked out?

Having come from owning a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe PHEV (absolutely no emotions associated with it!), I love being a part of the Mach-E community filled with passionate and knowledgeable people.

Thanks!

It's a known bug that supposedly gets fixed with one of the 6.x series updates. You could leave the car running and lock the doors with the B-pillar keypad as another option until your car gets the OTA update.

So you are a pro, Mike!

Interesting workaround. Does what you suggest provide a "doggie mode" hack to keep the inside cool on hot days (don't want to bake my pup!) when I run errands?

Also, when and how do these updates come through?

While I have your expert attention, could you answer another question? Here goes.

I've noticed that when I'm using ACC or BC, my locked-in speed limit increases without my changing it. For example, I'll set ACC/BC for, say, 65mph, but, after driving a short way, all of a sudden, it bumps up to 75mph. I have the Speed Limit Tolerance at 0. Any thoughts?

Thanks a ton!

Try turning off speed sign recognition.

Sadly, this is “not a bug, it’s a feature.” Ford refuses to allow the sensors to be turned off permanently, even in settings. The 6.2.x OTA release simply fixes the screen prompt method so that at least that works, supposedly, for one key cycle. But there is no method, in settings or otherwise that will or will ever allow them to be turned off for more than one key cycle. Only other workaround, maybe, is to duct tape the sensors.

Got it. Can you tell where all the sensors are located? Not too big a hassle to ask on exit when I have my dog with me.

when you use the B pillar keypad to lock the car while it’s running, do the mirrors fold? I tried this the other day and there was no indication that the doors actually locked.

Mirrors wont fold while it's on, you'll have to look for the lock status light on the door lock button.

Some people use this as dog mode, but you also have to turn off the 30min timer in settings if you are going to be gone that long. That setting has to be done each time as it reverts back after the car is turned off. Its not a good option IMO because you have no way of telling in the app if the car turned off, or of the internal car temp.

The mirrors do not fold. Usually you can hear the locks engage, and there is an LED on the lock buttons on the interior door panels that lights when the doors are locked.
