On my iPhone I have “xxxxx Mach E”. Where xxxxx is the last 5 digits of my VIN which is connecting. And I have a connection “Mustang Mach-E” that is never connected. What is that connection? It shows a device type of “car stereo”. Also is there a way to not always have Apple Car Play to not always connect to our MME snd start Waze on my phone?

I believe VIN MACH E is PAAK and Mustang Mach-E is typical Bluetooth phone/audio

Not sure what you mean by the final question but I think CarPlay makes use of the Mustang Mach-E connection to connect, followed by WiFi to maintain that connection during use which is also why you’ll never be able to AirDrop while the car is on.
