It's FREE and NOT being manufactured in-house at Ford so they are at the mercy of the supplier. I'm not even convinced that Tesla is even making it as they have suppliers as well which could be the reason for the delay.

I reached out to the adapter team because the communication has been non existent and they are about to miss the second promised deadline of shipping in July. This is the mind bogglingly unprofessional and snarky email I received from them when I asked for them to be more open and communicate meaningfully with their customers.

Had I received this communication it would be a different story but this was not sent to me and according to the individuals I’ve spoken to on the adapter team was not sent to any Canadian customer because they deemed it not necessary to update us.

This is the part I find offensive they didn’t think we were important enough to reach out too but they’re ok being snarky about it when they’ve been called out. For the record they are just as snarky and unprofessional on the phone as they are on email.

I got one of the free Tesla adapters. I’ve used it once. It worked well. Cable length was not an issue, although you obviously have to park in the wrong spot. But it is pricey. 49 cents per kWh.

That is approximately 20 cents per mile. Gas at $3.50/gal and 30mpg is only 12 cents per mile.

Remember when DCFC was cheaper than gas? Those were the days.

The interpretation of tone and unprofessionalism comes from the 10 previous emails and 3 phone calls. Not just from this one interaction. Also no one demanded more frequent updates. I requested more meaningful communication. There was no communication when the adapter was delayed last time or this time, until I reached out. It's not hard to send a mass email to say hey we had some delays and were working on it. That never happened in Canada. They just left us all wondering.

If you need an adapter so badly go buy an aftermarket one and then sell one of them later.

I have reread the ops post and the response a handful of times, and I am so confused.
1. What's wrong with the response?
2. Why have you called them and email so many times. I don't think anyone knows the true status of the adapters. Does asking the same question over and over make you think you'll eventually get a different answer? Eventually it will show up.
3. Life is too short to stress about stuff like this, buy an aftermarket one and move on.
4. Read the responses from fellow members here. This is a great group of people, and if the majority of people's views don't align with yours, maybe take a step back and ask yourself why versus trying to get in a keyboard war with everyone.
