Not totally accurate. It might be a 350 mile tow to the Tesla service center if uou live in a rural area such as the UP of Michigan or 50 miles to the nearest Ford dealership.
That’s great. If Ford were able to sell directly to consumers they would still have service centers at dealerships. Just give people the option.

Farley and Musk both pointed to the same thing about the EV market: affordability. They're simply (still) too expensive vs their ICE/hybrid/PHEV alternatives. (On purchase price, which is still the main determiner for most consumers, not operating costs.)

That doesn't mean early adopters and people on the higher end of the wealth scale haven't been buying them, of course. They have. But for the adoption rate to go much deeper, they have to reach further down into the wealth spectrum, i.e. get cheaper so more middle class buyers can afford them.
That’s also likely why GM did a 180 on the Bolt. About the only EV “econobox” out there.

With the TESLA mileage story in the news, it made me remember that the dealership is not happy with the EV Estimated Mileage vs. Real World Mileage. I am sure that the customers complained and as they say, "it" rolls downhill.
