Amazing that the BEV Team didn’t help you out. I was just reading another thread where they were helping someone perform a Ford Buyback on their car because it was sitting at the dealership waiting for service for too long. ??

When my Focus RS was hit during the pandemic, parts were nowhere. I took it upon myself to call up local dealerships and even a local junkyard and pieced together what the bodyshop needed so I could get my car back. With the MachE having been out for several years now I would think you can easily find a front-end wreck and yank the spoiler off it.

I'm not saying it's ideal, but it's a way forward. When my bodyshop said 6 months I got a list of what they needed and that became my mission. Got it back in under a month.

Don't know why Ford doesn't take some of those buy-backs and other such MMEs, and after fixing them, ensure owners get a decent loaner when these sorts of things happen.

I'm waiting on parts also, the dealer has all but the hardware. Big difference is they wouldn't take my car until they have everything in hand, I'm still driving my Mach e.
It took me 4 tries but I have found a competent service department!

They turn around and sell those cars at dealerships as used.

See all the 22/23 GTPE's that surfaced in the last couple months for just over $40k. Buyback cars. I don't think the new lucky contestant is informed of it being a buy back though.

Just thought I'd update. Sorry took so long. I sent James Farley and email. Did not hear back. But since I also had filed BBB and Attorney General complaints, I'm not surprised. Nearly 1 week from filing both the BBB and AG complaints, the part happened to make it to the repair shop. I got the car back Friday and remembered what a joy it is to drive all over again.

Yes. I did get to the BEV team that way. Actually already did before I saw you post using that number. I'm just saying you have to ask and that number doesn't get your straight to them.

The BEV team wasn't any more helpful than everyone else has been. Said parts have shipped, some parts are going to ship soon, and it sounds like the end of the month I might have the part at the garage to get the vehicle done, but I still lost over 3 months of time. I dropped the car of on Jan 12th.
I’m very confused here. Your profile says you have a MY23 vehicle. Your second post says that Ford “is not supporting spare parts for it”, and this post implies that parts are on their way to your dealer. Also, if your car has truly been undriveable, Ford should have you in a loaner? ?

I'm confused on what you are confused about.

I have a 2023. MY or not, I don't really know or thought important. I was rear-ended, so it was not a warranty claim and therefore, Ford would not be required to give me loaner. Are you suggesting Ford doesn't need to provide spare parts for vehicles that aren't broken because of warranty?

My main gripe was that Ford have an ETA on the parts, then pushed it out, then pushed it out again, and the very last thing I heard from Customer care was they still had no idea when parts would be available One week from being told that (and filing complaints with BBB and AG) the parts show up. Amazing how they can't give a date when it was only 1 week. But I digress.

You used the word “supporting” which tends to imply not available when talking about parts (for example, try getting replacement armrests for a 1974 Grand Marquis from Ford ?) It sounds like you are having an issue with parts availability. I’m still not sure why a buy-back or the PA Attorney General would be involved. If you’re taking legal action, why aren’t you taking it against the repair shop? I think you have an issue with the repair shop and they potentially have an issue with Ford?

There's a difference between supporting a new vehicle and one 50 years old. Arm rests aren't necessary. The repair shop put the order in in January and Ford wasn't providing the part, so my gripe is with Ford. The part could not be found anywhere. What's the repair shop going to do about it if Ford isn't making the part available. Lemon law states " Also, if your car is at the dealership for any repairs for a cumulative total of thirty days during the first 12 months or 12,000 miles, you may demand a refund or replacement. " And yes, it's parts availability which is directly supported by Ford.

Well, it sounds like you’ve had a good resolution, so no reason to continue to debate semantics. I was simply trying to understand what was going on.
