Need help programming liftgate open height

Have a 2022 Premium. I've been following the manual to adjust the rear liftgate so it will open while clearing our garage ceiling:

• Open liftgate with center button
• Stop liftgate from opening with liftgate control button
• Move manually to desired open height
• Hold liftgate control button until a beep

...except we never get a beep, and the gate height is never programmed.

I saw a video that said the height can only be adjusted within a few inched of fully open, so maybe we've trying to program it at too low of a height? Completely confused, but would really appreciate any help!

I have never used your step 2, stop liftgate from opening, with button. If you need to stop it, just do it manually.
I just open it and wait until it stops, move it manually to where I want it, then hold down the button until it beeps. I have done this several times, it has always worked. I usually did that right after the liftgate hit something

I tried this as well b/c I have a low garage ceiling. It won't program below a certain height. It's easy to stop with your hand, but if someone else is opening the tailgate...
When you hold the button, it does beep. It's high-pitched and very quiet and hard to hear (for folks my age). But if you are trying to program it to open to a height below the threshold, it won't save it.

Got it figured out, thank you! Turns out I was, indeed, trying to program it to open lower than its minimum allowed. Lame they have that restriction. Gotta get pool noodles or something for the garage ceiling, I guess.
