I know how your first read of a thread like the infamous FDRS threads across multiple forums might feeeeel, but I assure you that it's actually very rare for an owner with a Mongoose/FDRS kit to "brick" anything. And even if they did, I don't know if I have ever read a single instance where the solution was to take it to a dealership.

Or put another way, it's way harder to brick a car using FDRS than you might think. At least for more than just a few minutes. FDRS is actually how you FIX bricked modules. :)
maybe it is time for a group buy for the mongoose/FDRS kit for us 2021 owners. A Christmas wish.

I am currently having this same problem. Took my car to the dealer to check the brakes, which were squeaky, and instead he tells me that I have about $2100 worth of updates needing to be completed. Updates that are NOT covered under my extended warranty. This is an absurd amount of money to wait around for things to download. Im not even sure if these upgrades are absolutely necessary because that is just completely out of my budget right now.

1. Call the Ford Customer Service line and ask for the BEV team. Ask them if your car is behind in updates. If it is there may be a warranty reason it’s not getting them such as a module that has gone rogue.

2. Not all modules get OTA updates regularly and occasionally at all. Just because there’s an update available in FDRS for any given module doesn’t mean that it’s gone out via OTA or that it even applies to your car.

3. Run, don’t walk and go to another dealer.
